Chapter 209: The End of Time

"Peter!" Doctor Strange flashed over to Peter's side, looking at him in astonishment. "Power, magic, soul... What have you been through to reach such a level?"

Peter asked in confusion, "Didn't you see what I looked like when I returned?"

Doctor Strange shook his head. "Actually, I could only see what you looked like when you left. As for after your return, I watched countless times, yet I saw nothing."

"And yet you still trusted me with it," Peter said with a smile, taking out the Eye of Agamotto.

He had carried this thing for a long time, traveling through countless worlds with it. Now, it was time to return it to its rightful owner.

Doctor Strange did not refuse and took the Eye of Agamotto.

With this artifact, his power could reach its peak, allowing him to participate in the war at his full potential.

"Are all of these the reinforcements you brought?" Doctor Strange pointed at the spider-themed individuals scurrying around the battlefield. "Uh, they..."

He sensed something peculiar about these people.

Peter chuckled. "Yes, you're not mistaken. They are all Spider-Men. Different worlds, different Spider-Men."

"...You haven't become some sort of Spider-King, have you?" Doctor Strange asked in surprise.

"Hahaha, you could say that." Peter laughed heartily.

At this point, he could indeed call himself the Spider-King.

After returning, he found that his connection with the Great Web had grown even deeper, granting him greater control over fate.

And as Spider-Totems—beings designated as the guardians of the Great Web since the inception of the multiverse—those who sensed the powerful aura of the Great Web emanating from him naturally developed a strong affinity toward him.

Well, an affinity... and a certain fatal attraction.

Not long after his return, several female Spider-Totems had even extended mating invitations to him.

Peter, however, rejected them.

Oh, wait—there was an exception.

Gwen was the exception.

The way she treated Peter hadn't changed much from before.

Peter had observed closely and realized that this phenomenon primarily occurred among Spider-Men who possessed symbiote suits.

After a bit of thought, he understood why.

It seemed that symbiotes could isolate certain characteristics of the Spider-Totems, which made those who wore symbiote suits somewhat resistant to this natural attraction.

This situation reminded Peter of his first meeting with Gwen.

Perhaps back then, the reason Gwen felt a peculiar attraction to him was because of the aura of the Great Web that he had unknowingly emitted!

Thinking carefully, it wasn't just Gwen.

The usually aloof Spider-Man Noir had acted rather friendly when they first met—something he didn't do with others.

The same went for Spider-Ham, middle-aged Peter, Peni, and the others.

They were all exceptionally warm toward him.

According to them, Peter had a "comforting" presence that made them unconsciously want to be close to him and develop a favorable impression of him.

And when this feeling occurred among female Spider-Men, it might eventually evolve into something like Gwen's situation.

Of course, Peni was also a female Spider-Man.

But since she was still young, this sensation wouldn't trigger any hormonal effects.

After realizing this, Peter had thought about asking Gwen why she liked him.

But in the end, he decided against it.

Liking someone is just liking them—does there really need to be a reason?

Just like how he initially approached Gwen out of sympathy, yet in the end, they still ended up together.

Does the reason even matter?

It is important that they are together.

These Spider-Men just happened to be free in their own worlds, so they decided to follow their Spider-King on an interdimensional journey.

In the past, Spider-Man 2099 would have been furious about such reckless dimension-hopping, especially when it involved meddling in another world's internal war.

But now, he was fighting the hardest!

Because Peter had promised him that once he became powerful enough, he would restore the universe he had once visited.

By then, Spider-Man 2099 would be able to take the place of his deceased counterpart in that universe and take care of his daughter.

Family was what Spider-Man 2099 longed for the most.

It wasn't just a matter of interests and stakes. Now that Peter was connected to the Great Web, it could be said that his will dictated the development of the multiverse.

So, there was no longer any need to worry about whether such actions would cause the universe to collapse.

However, not everyone saw it that way.

At the end of time, deep within the Void, in a dimly lit room—

The figure who had been sitting calmly, as if in control of everything, suddenly stood up.

His eyes widened, staring intently at the scene before him.

"This... The future has turned into chaos!"

Before him stood something resembling a tree, which originally had only a single branch.

Whenever the tree's branches attempted to grow wildly and extend into the unknown, someone would intervene, pruning away the excess growth.

That was what his subordinates had been doing.

This act also ensured his own safety.

But now, the future had suddenly become pure chaos!

Even in this place, untouched by the passage of time, the future was no longer visible!

"What happened? What is going on with the multiverse?"

The man slammed his hand on the table, his expression dark and uncertain.

Without hesitation, he pressed a button and issued an order:

"Everyone, from now on, drop everything you're doing! Immediately head to the eras where divergences have appeared and investigate what's happening in the multiverse! I want to know everything—right now, this instant!"

By the time he finished speaking, his tone was nearly deranged.

Earth-199999, the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

After a brief exchange with Doctor Strange, Peter flickered out of sight and appeared beside Vision.

At that moment, Vision was soaring through the air, battling the Chitauri soldiers descending from the sky.

Having lost the Mind Stone, he had lost several of his abilities.

Fortunately, as a creation of the Mind Stone, he still retained some magical abilities granted by it when it existed, allowing him to maintain decent combat strength.

"Mr. Vision, your stone." Peter tossed the bracelet containing the Mind Stone to Vision.

Vision caught it, glanced at it briefly, and then tossed it back to Peter.

"No, it belongs to you now, Mr. Peter."

"Huh?" Peter was puzzled. "But this was originally yours."

"No. The truth is, when the Mind Stone was in my possession, I only ended up losing it. But you—you are the one who can protect it better. I'm entrusting it to you, Mr. Peter!" Vision said solemnly.

Peter nodded, understanding Vision's intent, and accepted the Mind Stone, wearing the bracelet on his wrist.

As the second Infinity Stone to appear in the films, the Mind Stone played a significant role throughout the story.

Embedded in Loki's scepter, it controlled Hawkeye's mind, altering his thoughts and turning him into an unwilling agent—setting the stage for the first Avengers battle.
