Sora scheme (108)

While Sora was having fun with Renji's situation, a realization dawned on him—those Shinigami didn't have a place to stay.

An idea popped into his mind, an idea on how to get Rukia and have them help him without knowing it, all while owing him a significant debt.

Uryu's gaze landed on Sora... oh god, no. His brother was up to some shit again.

As he sat beside Sora, Uryu immediately noticed the dangerous glint in his brother's eyes. It was subtle—but oh god, no.

No, no, no.

That look.

That was the "I'm about to do something incredibly devious" look.

He knew it—anyone who knew Sora would know that as of right now, he had a 20-step plan done, and everyone here would be involved to some degree.

Sora, meanwhile, now sported the customer service face like no other. He looked rather harmless like this, as if he wasn't going to do some devious stuff.

"Since you guys are going to be staying in the human world for a while," he said in the sweetest voice, "I guess that means you don't have a place to stay, huh?"

The Shinigami looked at each other. Ikkaku scratched his bald head, Renji shrugged, and even Toshiro seemed slightly wary of where this was going.

"...No," Renji admitted.

Sora's smile widened. Oh, this was good. This was the good stuff.

"Ohhh, really? Well, good news!" Sora clasped his hands together. "I just so happen to have plenty of space in my apartment. And since I'm such a nice guy, I'd be more than happy to let you all stay there!"

"What's the catch?" Renji immediately did not trust a word coming from Sora's mouth. It had to be a trick—he had heard of the tricks Sora pulled on Rukia. How dare he.

Sora acted as if Renji was accusing him of the biggest crime ever, as if little, innocent him could ever do something like this.

"Renji! Do you really think I'd be so heartless as to charge my fellow friends for a place to stay?"

"Yes."

Damn, not even a moment of hesitation. The hate must be real.

"Fair," was Sora's reply.

Rangiku, sensing an opportunity, leaned forward with a smirk. "Well, Sora-kun~ I could pay you another way~"

Before she could even finish her sentence, Sora immediately cut her off.

"Yeah, no thanks."

If he wanted to see tits, he would open YouTube or some shit. Or even better, look at his girlfriend. Sure, her breasts weren't the biggest, but they were his—for his eyes to see. So their value immediately ranked higher in his opinion.

Speaking of which, her ass resembled a peach... Hm, he wondered if her guts would do well for the stuff he had planned. Eh, no biggie.

Meanwhile, the woman was stunned. The speed at which he rejected her was insane.

Rangiku's smirk froze.

A second later, she blinked. "...Wait, what?"

This was a first. Wasn't he like a teenage boy? Boys were known for being hormonal as fuck.

"Not interested," Sora said casually, already turning his attention away.

Rangiku stared.

No, really.

She stared.

Did... did she just get rejected before she could even finish offering? That was—? What?!

Ikkaku whistled. "Damn. That's gotta be a blow to your pride."

Rangiku, still in shock, muttered, "This has never happened before..."

Sora, unfazed, turned his gaze to Toshiro and smirked.

"Look, short stack, I think it's a simple deal," Sora said in an angelic tone. "In exchange for five-star hospitality—high-quality water, delicious food, prime real estate—all I ask for is..."

He paused for effect.

"A tiny favor."

Toshiro frowned. "What kind of favor?"

"Oh, nothing major," Sora waved his hand dismissively. "Just, you know... something small. Maybe some compound interest attached, a little collateral, possibly some long-term investment..."

Toshiro's expression darkened.

Because those words?

Yeah, those were not words they had in the Soul Society.

Uryu adjusted his glasses, watching this absolute scam unfold.

Oh.

Oh no.

They were making a deal with the devil.

And the devil in question...

Was Sora.

A Few Hours Later...

Meanwhile, Byakuya Kuchiki could be seen sitting peacefully inside Sora's apartment. He sipped his tea with the grace of a noble.

Everything was peaceful. He was stopping his sister from getting touched and fulfilling his duty as a brother.

Everything was calm.

Everything was—

The door suddenly swung open.

Sora stepped inside with a beaming smile.

Something was off.

Byakuya could tell. As if a demon had stepped foot in the house.

No, something was wrong.

His big brother senses immediately went off.

This felt... off.

Byakuya set his tea down, watching his so-called brother-in-law enter the room.

"Sora," he said smoothly, his brow furrowing slightly. "You look suspiciously happy. Why?"

Jeez, was Sora not allowed to be happy?

"Oh, nothing much! Some Shinigami are moving in!" Sora added innocently.

Byakuya's fingers tightened around his teacup.

His expression shifted.

"...What?"

Before he could even fully process what had been said, a head suddenly peeked through the doorway.

Renji.

Yup. That was definitely Renji.

The redhead froze upon seeing his captain sitting there, tea in hand.

"Oh... shit," Renji muttered under his breath.

His entire soul left his body.

Because there, in all his noble, intimidating glory, was Captain Byakuya Kuchiki himself.

And he?

Did not look pleased.

Renji immediately bowed deeply out of pure survival instinct. "C-Captain Kuchiki! I—uh—wasn't expecting to see you here!"

Byakuya regarded him with his usual cool demeanor. "Renji."

Renji swallowed.

Oh god, why was Byakuya looking at him like that?! That was the 'you're about to make my day significantly worse' look!

Byakuya exhaled slightly, turning back to Sora.

"I assume they are here due to the Hollow attacks?"

Renji quickly nodded. "Y-Yeah! That's why we're stationed in Karakura!"

Byakuya studied them for a moment before slowly shifting his gaze back to Sora.

A silent question passed between them.

Why did you accept them?

Wasn't Sora the same person who wanted this place to be completely empty?

Sora, ever the picture of innocence, gave his brother a sweet smile.

"Oh, I was just being helpful~"

BULLSHIT.

Byakuya's eyes narrowed slightly.

Sora continued, voice as gentle as an angel's whisper.

"They needed a place to stay, and it's only for a few days," he added. "It's really not a big deal."

Silence.

Byakuya stared at his younger brother.

...

What kind of scheme was Sora planning now?

A/N Guess his plan
