Finding The Girl - "Alone?"

"Alone?"

Susanna could not believe they were looking for the little bastard, but there they were.

"Gil! Gilliam."

"Gil we're here for you."

Susanna rolled her eyes at Solvie's kindness. They just kept walking. Until a new light formed out of nowhere, in the distance, away from the village road leading out of the territory. It had not the yellow of fire. It was the purest of white.

"That light." Susanna breathed.

She shivered.

"That's a Golem's light!" Solveig yelled.

"Someone is being targeted, we have to get help!"

"Gil! Get here now and help! Or I swear I'll kill you!" Solveig demanded.

A moment later there was an amazing, glittery light behind a near bush. It faded but Solveig was already running. Suddenly she stopped and turned.

"Go get help!" She demanded from Susanna who nodded numbly.

Solveig grabbed Gil's wrist and ran.

"People are in trouble. Move it!"

Gil gaped, wide eyed and nodded and panicked as they took off sprinting, all three Golems sprinting behind.

"Were you the reason my Golem lit?" Gil asked.

He didn't even sound out of breath. Likely Susanna would have been making good speed, but the idiot hated Gil, the one with an extra Golem which was most useful in times of danger.

Solveig grunted, her nostrils blowing out the cold.

"Were you going to hurt me?" Gil asked.

"Was faking it!"

"You can't fake it."

"Fine! I did mean it. I was going to pull your nose."

Gil smiled, despite there being wet streaks on his cheeks. She tried to think of something useful, as they were rushing into the risk of danger and death. His Golem lit up again before Solveig smacked his butt mid run.

"Dere you go!" Solveig grunted out.

The laugh that followed was deep. From a familiar place. Not a word was said.

Their whole world changed when the sounds of growls and barks filled the air.

"Wolves!" Gil yelled.

"Wolves can't make Golems light." She said.

"I know! Not without a Golem of their own!"

They literally stopped running, the three Golem's turning back and hiding behind them.

"But that's dangerous." Gil said.

"And people are in danger." Solveig grunted.

"But a wolf, with a Golem…"

"It could be a man with a tamed wolf?"

"But then so many wolves…"

"Are you scared!" Solveig snapped.

Gil hardened and took off sprinting, and his Golems got bigger. She had to catch up!
