"I'm just kidding. Luckily I have that potion." Seraphina chuckled, indicating that she was just joking.
Kai was only silent when he heard Seraphina's chatter, the atmosphere suddenly became awkward. "That hair of yours...," Seraphina began, hesitating slightly, her fingers touching the long strand of Kai's hair that fell on her shoulders.
Kai was surprised then turned his face while twisting his long hair, "Oh yes, I didn't even realize my hair was this long. I even forgot my own face how..." Kai muttered. Seraphina, without saying anything, quickly took a small pair of scissors from her bag.
Kai was a little surprised, Seraphina played with the scissors in her hand, "Don't worry," she said, "I'll tidy it up a little first." Seraphina's quick movements made Kai gasp, but she did not protest.
"Why are you carrying such an object in your bag, it looks like your bag is a magic bag." Kai asked, his eyes still fixed on the small scissors in Seraphina's hand. Seraphina chuckled, "The magic bag she said, fufufu."
Kai fell silent, resigned as Seraphina began to cut her hair. "You know Kai, when I was on a mission, I only brought things that I thought were useful maybe because of that." Seraphina explained.
"A little more finished," Seraphina clipped the last remaining part with focus, "and it's done." He put down his scissors and stepped back to see the work of his hands. However, as he looked at Kai's face, he was shocked.
His eyes when covered by his long hair did look red, but when it was cut, it turned out that his eyes had a sharp gaze with blood-red eyes that burned, like a fire hidden behind the fog. Seraphina silently stared at Kai's face.
"Kai I want to make sure of something, for that follow me." Seraphina pulled Kai's hand. Kai only resigned himself to following Seraphina by covering his head with a cloak to cover his eyes which is a characteristic of vampires.
Not long after the two of them arrived at the dining place, Seraphina greeted the receptionist and sat down at the food table. He waved his hand towards Kai as if telling him to sit down with him.
"Kai, can you still eat human food?" Seraphina leaned casually on a long wooden chair, her hand holding a warm cup of tea. Looking at Kai curiously.
"Huh? I don't know, the last time I tried it was 5 years ago I guess?" Kai was silent for a moment, Seraphina interrupted "5 years ago? Before you became a vampire?"
"Yes, the food that deserves to be eaten is the fish I caught first, I guess..." Kai replied with a faint smile, "Why?"
"No, it would be better if you could still eat it. Well at least remove suspicion from people." Seraphina leaned back then and made a small circle following the teacup she was holding.
Kai could only stay silent watching her, suddenly the restaurant waiter approached their table and served some food, Kai was confused about what to do with so much food, "Seraphina... This...?"
"Ah just try eating it. I'll make sure of it." Seraphina smiled and then handed some plates in front of Kai.
Kai was still hesitant, wondering if he could eat this or not, but what's the harm in trying, "Alright then I'll give it a try." He picked up the utensils and tried to eat the food.
Kai according to eating the food, he hadn't felt the food enter his stomach for a long time. It was strange, it felt on the tongue but did not provide nutrition. If he says he can eat or not, does this mean he can?
"How is Kai?" Seraphina eagerly waited for Kai's reaction and answer.
"Hm, I can still feel the taste. But it doesn't feel like this food is in my stomach. Or rather not absorbed by my body?" Kai explained in confusion.
"Oh, I see. Seems like there's no problem, even though your body isn't absorbing it," Seraphina explained. "Looks like only blood can provide it with nutrients, otherwise..." Seraphina murmured, her eyes glinting sharply. Kai was a bit surprised. "What's up?" he asked.
"Oh, nothing, it's fine. Oh right, Kai, can you hold onto it until tomorrow?" she asked, her voice a bit tense.
"I guess... maybe, I'm not sure. But it seems like it could work." Kai replied hesitantly.
Seraphina nodded in satisfaction. "That's great! I'll report this to the Commander. Now, let's head to the inn. You need to get enough rest for tonight." She extended her hand, showing a friendly and helpful attitude.
Time flew by, and before they knew it, the sun began to set. They walked side by side along the streets of Narnia, filled with the scent of fragrant flowers and the sound of water trickling from the fountain in the town center.
The moonlight reflected on the surface of the fountain pool. Seraphina occasionally glanced at Kai, making sure he was okay. Soon after, they arrived at the inn. The inn looked simple but cozy, located in a quiet corner far in the city of Narnia.
Seraphina showed Kai the room he would be using tonight. "This is your room. Don't worry about the payment, I know the owner of this inn," Seraphina said with a wink.
"Thanks for today, Seraphina. Sorry to trouble you," Kai said with a slight smile. He was grateful to meet a good person after getting out of the cell at that vampire slave headquarters.
"No problem! Get enough rest, Kai. I'm going to see the Commander now. See you tomorrow!" Seraphina waved her hand. Kai smiled back, then walked into the room that had been prepared. "Warm and comfortable," he muttered, sitting on the bed.
Feeling uncomfortable sleeping just by wearing a robe, Kai opened it. Instantly he remembered that he was not wearing any clothes under the robe. His face turned red. He only realized that he had been traveling around with Seraphina all day wearing only a robe without clothes! "How stupid am I, just realized this?!" He panicked.
His eyes immediately fell on the pile of clothes at the end of the mattress. He immediately put it on; Fortunately, the size is just right. He breathed a sigh of relief, then stared at the mirror.
"So this is my look now? I really don't recognize myself after that incident," he muttered, staring at his reflection in the mirror. The reflection was strange, with red eyes, fangs, and this white hair was not the him he knew.
"These eyes... these fangs... even this white hair... all thanks to that damn Alfred!" he fumed inwardly, clenching his fists tightly. He stood up, moving closer to the mirror, his reflection seeming to challenge him.
"Dad, Mom, Sister... and everyone!" Kai's voice trembled with burning anger, his eyes blazing like embers. "I will definitely... GET revenge for what happened to you!" His fists hardened, his teeth grinding, showing an unwavering determination to avenge.
On the other side, at the Alfred Mansion. Alfred is lounging in his fancy chair, feet up on the table, while a glass of red wine slowly spins in his hand. Candlelight illuminates the grand room, creating dancing shadows on the walls. A subordinate walks in, looking pale.
"Your Grace," the subordinate almost hesitates to report something to Alfred, "the base in the south... has been attacked."
Alfred raises an eyebrow, but his smile doesn't fade. "Oh? By whom?"
"Hunter, Your Grace. Because of that, many slaves died in vain by that Hunter." Explained his subordinates while worrying.
Alfred laughed softly, his voice cold and scornful. "Hunter? They were just a bunch of rats. Let them play around." He said while shaking his glass.
His subordinates were just silent, waiting for orders. Alfred put his glass on the table and then stood up from his seat. "To lose a subordinate is no problem, I'll look for it again later. For now, just clean up the place for the new slave later." he said calmly, his voice flat without emotion. He walked over to his desk, picking up a large map stretched out on it.
"Yes my lord," his subordinate replied respectfully.
The story shifts to Seraphina who is reporting to her commander. Seraphina stands tall in front of Commander Glaen, bowing respectfully. The room is large and grand, filled with various military equipment and maps. Commander Glaen sits behind a big desk, his face serious.
"Commander," Seraphina starts her report in a firm voice, "According to the report. I found a half-vampire human who is still conscious."
"Hooh, interesting. Explain further," Commander Glaen said, his voice cold and full of authority.
"He was found at the headquarters of a Vampire noble's subordinate named Alfred. At first I thought he was a low-level vampire, but after meeting him. He still has consciousness because he hasn't eaten human blood." Seraphina explained.
"Ooh that's an amazing thing, from your report. He has been holding back his desire for five years." Glaen re-read the report he had received from Seraphina.
"Yeah, commander. Maybe this can bring that ancient oracle to life even if it only gives a 0.1 percent chance." Seraphina replied firmly.
Commander Glaen, who initially seemed serious, started to show interest. He leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping on the table. "How are you so sure about that? Those vampires just see the oracle as an old myth that only threatens." He asked curiously.
Seraphina pulled out a file from her bag and handed it to Commander Glaen. "This is a complete report on it. I've also noted some potential weaknesses to minimize the risks."
Commander Glaen received the file, opening it carefully. He read the report carefully, occasionally frowning, occasionally nodding. After a while, he raised his face, his gaze sharp and calculating. "It's interesting, but it's likely to fail right, what is your response to this Seraphina?"
"If it fails, then I myself will kill him. Because I was responsible for bringing it here." Seraphina replied firmly.
"Alright," Commander Glaen said, his voice firm. "I believe in your judgment, and tomorrow bring him before me. Then for now take a break. This time you have tried well."
"Yes commander." Seraphina bowed politely.
