After paying bail, the Miller family returned to their home with resentment.
"We're finally going home! I feel like taking a shower and changing my clothes. Being in detention overnight really made me feel uncomfortable and itchy. I don't understand how anyone can repeatedly go to prison. It's really uncomfortable and dirty in there," Vivian said as she flung her body on the sofa.
Geoffrey, who heard Vivian's statement, immediately turned to her and snorted in annoyance. "It's not just you who feels uncomfortable, but me too. Even now, Jordan hasn't been able to come out. Negotiations with the police are still difficult because fingerprints were found on the lighter used to threaten arson!"
Geoffrey took a long breath and said, "Huh, if only he hadn't been so rash, we wouldn't be dealing with the police!"
Vivian, who heard this, snorted in annoyance. Then she squeezed her own fingers, stomped away, and left the living room while continuing to grumble. She was not happy that Geoffrey was saying bad things about Jordan.
In Vivian's eyes, Jordan was a perfect man with straight, blond hair, typical of a college field star. Jordan came from the Wright family, which had a fortune of hundreds of millions. Jordan Wright is also the only boy in the Wright family, which does not mean he will be the sole heir, while his older sister will marry into another family.
Unfortunately, Jordan used to date Cassandra, Vivian's half-sister. He treated Cassandra very sweetly, often sending her romantic and expensive gifts and taking her to luxurious places. Of course, this caused Vivian to feel jealous.
Vivian had always been Geoffrey and Megan's pride. She got more perks than Cassandra, but in reality, Cassandra conquered Jordan.
But Vivian didn't just give up. With her persistence, she found a loophole in her half-sister's relationship. As long as they were together, it turned out that not once did Cassandra have sex with Jordan, even though Jordan tried to seduce her several times.
Vivian eventually uses this to seduce her half-sister's boyfriend. Vivian, who is good at pleasing men, can ensnare Jordan until their relationship becomes more intimate. Slowly, Jordan begins to attack Cassandra from behind.
Jordan begins to obey Vivian until he finds a way to end his engagement with Cassandra without leaving the impression that he is guilty. They worked together to mix drugs into Cassandra's drink.
Megan then turned to her husband and touched his arm gently. "Honey, aren't you being too hard on Vivian? Look at our son; he was angry and disappointed when you mentioned Jordan as the cause of our misfortune last night."
Geoffrey snorted in annoyance. "It's true. If only Jordan could have refrained from getting angry and threatening to burn down the building, not trying to hit the officers, wouldn't we not have been picked up by the police. We would have just been kicked out of the event!"
Megan turned to Vivian, who was heading for the stairs, and called out to her. "Vivian, come here; you don't need to be so angry. Don't listen to your father's words; he's just emotional!"
Vivian stepped closer to her mother and then took a long breath. "Daddy thinks Jordan is the cause of all this. I know, Daddy must have meant it."
Megan turned back to her husband and tried to give him some understanding. For her, Vivian was everything. If Vivian was upset, no matter who started first, Megan would ask that person to apologize and admit they were wrong. She always did this with Cassandra, using sweet words to persuade her and make her daughter happy.
"Geoffrey, you can't blame Jordan for this. What he did last night was a bit out of line. But you should know that he did that to save our pride, your pride as the head of the Miller family. Soon, he will be the son-in-law of our family; it is only natural for him to defend the family."
Geoffrey let out a long breath and turned to Vivian. She still said nothing, but she was actually thinking about something. 'Maybe she's like that.
Megan then cleared her throat and tried to woo her husband again. "Husband, you should know that Cassandra and her husband are to blame here. Didn't you see how arrogant they were when they met us?"
Geoffrey furrowed his brow and snorted in annoyance. "Huh, you're right, Megan. Cassandra is the one who has ignited our emotions. Especially when her husband came and pretended to be a hero to drop his charges against us. I really don't know how I can raise a child like her. If I knew that when she grew up, she would be troublesome and continue to disobey, I wouldn't have let her live. I didn't need to let the nurse bring her into the infirmary when she was born."
Attorney Charles Parker dropped the charges against the Miller family this morning. But as for Jordan's actions, Charles couldn't do anything about them. It was all out of his hands.
Megan smiled, "You can't blame yourself for what she did. She's just an arrogant daughter who doesn't know herself."
Vivian immediately turned to his mother and nodded. "Mother, it seems like Cassandra did this on purpose. She purposely made Dad angry, and maybe she also wanted to frame Jordan because she's still hurt."
Megan turned to Vivian. "You're right. It looks like Cassandra still holds a grudge against Jordan. She definitely wants Jordan to have bad luck."
It was Geoffrey's turn to snort in annoyance, "I don't know what that kid is really thinking. He's the one who made trouble with Jordan, but he's also the one who wants revenge. It should have been Jordan who took revenge on Cassandra."
"Then what should we do?" asked Megan.
Geoffrey paused and thought for a moment. Then he turned to his wife and son. "I think we should think carefully before getting back at Cassandra. That child is different; she's not as weak as she used to be!" Geoffrey turned to Vivian and said, "I'll ask lawyer Tom Harris to help her, and then you tell her to exercise more restraint. We don't know what Cassandra is planning and wants yet."
