Chapter 9: Camera

Jang Hyejin who is acting as Jo Yeonwoo cried sorrowfully. It was an interesting crying scene, she is sad but kind of relieved at the same time, it gives you a complicated feeling.

The scene went on for a few more seconds until Jang Hyejin finished her performance.

The room's silence was broken by Director Jung, he clapped and praised our performance.

"We have truly chosen the right actors, this scene is much more interesting and in line with each character. Thank you for actress Jang Hyejin and Kim Hana."

Writer Kim spoke as well, "I appreciate actress Kim Hana's criticisms, I think she always gives proper feedback which I appreciate a lot."

Unexpectedly actress Jang Hyejin also interjected, "I agree with Hana, I think this drama touches upon love and family a lot. Yeonwoo and Yeonkyung cared about each other, they wanted the best for each other. They might have some misconceptions on what is good for the other, but the intent has always been good."

She is eloquent, but her words carry a bright tone.

I smiled and bowed slightly at the feedbacks.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw someone with an unhappy glint in his eye, it disappeared instantly, but I caught it.

It was that kid who played Kibum.

What's that kid's name again?

We finally finished the script reading after a few hours.

Me and my mom greeted everyone before we left. Actress Jang Hyejin seemed particularly fond of me. It feels odd to see someone younger than I am treat me like a younger generation.

Regardless, I had a great time doing a script reading after a long time. Back in the future, my roles were usually not that important to be on the script reading.

On our way back, my mom and I sang through some songs. We ended up laughing after one another, it feels great to be this happy.

The shoot officially starts in 2nd February 200X.

We will shoot some of the necessary footage, the rest will be live shot during the airing time. Daily dramas are typically done in this way. The positive is that the drama could be adjusted according to audience reception, the negative is that everything could be changed at any moment, which might end up with more work for us.

However, this is a stage that provides good opportunity for actors. If you can appeal to the audience properly, your screentime could increase.

In other words, it's something that had the potential to end as a battlefield.

I don't know why I feel so confident, maybe because it's something I've went through before, maybe being a child actress is a familiar territory.

Regardless, I am going to do my best.

We are going to shoot the winter scenes first, afterwards as the winter went away, the spring scenes will be shot.

It turns out that the first scene that will be shot is the first meeting between the leads.

Both Jang Hyejin and Park Hyundo seemed particularly tense today. A lot of eyes are on them since this is the first shoot. There is a lot on their plate too, they have to take promo posters, do some interviews, and prepare for the press conference. I'm glad I don't have to do all that stuff. Maybe I'll be in some posters but that's all.

Some people like to say that the first shoot decides the vibe of the entire shooting process. I don't really agree with that, but sometimes prolonged mistakes and slump happening in the first shoot could infect the others.

After both leads have taken their position, Director Jung started the shoot with an 'Action!'.

Both the female lead and the male lead did well, if anything they are even more immersed than at the script reading.

The first meeting of Jo Yeonwoo and Heo Sangwoo, both characters that have their own issues and the start of their romance.

When I see this scene, I almost think that it's possible for this drama to succeed.

I don't know if this couple would survive the boring repetitive hurdles in love, but it would be great if so.

After this scene was done, me and my mom left immediately because I have no scenes yet. I just wanted to drop by to be supportive and feel the vibe of the set.

While we are heading to our car, I felt the subtle feeling of being watched.

It's like having a camera pointed at me.
