Aurora James - POV
How dare he try to mark me when he clearly broke off our mate bond in the first place. I wanted to go and confront him, but I don't know if I have the strength to face him yet. "If we let this slide, he would take advantage of us again, Aurora. We must put an end to this immediately." Lily said, and I knew that she was right.
The sooner Alpha Alonso leaves this pack, the better for me. I got out of bed, and as I stood up, I felt a sharp pain travel down my spine, but it was not as bad as a few hours ago. I looked around the road when I spotted my sneakers near the room door.
After wearing my shoes, I walked down the stairs. As I walked out of the pack house, I saw two new vehicles in the driveway.
Could this be Alpha Alonso?
"Aurora, why are you out of your room?" I turned around when I saw Levi standing near the doorway.
"I was injured, Levi. Not disabled for life."
"That is not what I meant. Aren't you supposed to rest?" He asked me.
"I want to see Alpha Alonso. Is he in the pack house?" I asked Levi when he shook his head.
"He said that he wants to go and see how our warriors train, so he must be there," Levi explained, and I nodded my head, and began walking towards the training grounds. As I arrived there, I saw that the warriors were busy training, but Alpha Alonso was nowhere in sight.
"We can still smell his scent, Aurora," Lily said, and I nodded my head and closed my eyes as I took a deep breath of the forest air. A lot of scents were mingled in here, but then I got his distinct scent, which I followed deeper into the forest.
I have never been to this part of the forest before, and I believe that this path must have been rarely used because the path was overgrown with grass, making it a little difficult to navigate my way. Fifteen minutes later, I let out a tired breath as I looked around the tall trees and a frown formed on my face.
I heard the sound of a river in the distance, and that is where I went. As I pushed away the branches and navigated my way through the bushes, the trees began to clear out when I finally spotted the river. No one was around, and I saw Alpha Alonso standing at the edge while his eyes were glued to the flowing stream of water.
"I have been waiting for you, darling." He said without even turning around to face me.
"I am not your darling, Alpha Alonso. Stop calling me that. We have nothing between us." I asserted when he turned around to face me. His jaw was clenched, and I could see the anger swirling in his eyes.
"You are my mate, and nothing can ever change that."
"You lost that right when I accepted your rejection." I retorted as I glared at him. "What are you doing here, Elijah? Aren't you supposed to prepare for your wedding with Scarlet?" I spat out when he began walking closer to me while I stood rooted to my place.
"Everyone in my pack found out that you were my mate and that you rejected me."
"You rejected me first."
"But that is not how the story is circulating. Do you know what that rumor has done to my reputation?" His voice rose an octave, but I didn't flinch. "I am the laughing stock of the pack right now. An alpha rejected by his mate and that too by a fucking outcast."
"Why are you here?" I asked him.
"I want you back."
"You do not peruse something without having a motive, Elijah."
"As I told you over the phone, Aurora. Ever since you left, I felt my alpha strength had been reduced. So I went and consulted a witch about this, and she gave me a solution for my problem." He said when he was only an inch away from me. "You are my medicine. If I mate with you, I will regain my strength."
"That is not going to happen, Alpha Alonso. So it would be best if you just leave this pack." I said in a monotone when he gently caressed my cheek while my hands curled into fists.
"I will get what I want." He said as I turned my face away when I saw a smirk on his face. With one final look my way, he walked out of there, leaving me alone. I let out a heavy sigh as I wrapped my arms around my body to keep myself warm. I need to get him out of this pack.
I looked around the forest making sure that no one saw us together before I walked back to the pack house.
Beta Zander Perez - POV
As I walked into my office, I saw Alpha Lopez seated in my chair. "You wanted to see me?" I asked Alpha Lopez, and he nodded his head as he gestured for me to take a seat.
"You lost control?" That was all Adam said as he looked me in the eye.
"It won't happen again, Adam," I told him, but he shook his head.
"We have been best friends since we were young, Zander. And I have stayed with you every step of the way."
"What are you trying to imply in here, Adam."
"I know what happened when she left you for someone else. And I am afraid that you are turning into that old self of yours again." Adam said, but I didn't say anything.
"We just want to know if she came back, Zander. When we suggested that you go for therapy, but you denied it, and we are afraid that you are losing control of your wolf." Adrian said as I glared at him.
"You know accidents like this happen when you are training to be a warrior." I retorted.
