Getting Married

"A blood beast known for its curse skills. It's the Banewolf Lord. Many Deacons and Elders have tried to kill it for its blood, but it's very sly." Mei Hua replied, her eyes fixed on the other side of the river.

Over the past month and half, she hadn't met with Yu Yan more than twice but those two times they related well. Her infatuation and curiosity had long changed into something more and her inner self confidence was starting to reveal itself. As a genius among geniuses, some confidence was required to stand out among one's peers. Unfortunately being a genius in cultivation did not increase one's chances with a Legacy.

"What is the blood used for?" Yu Yan asked.

"To draw some types of talismans. The Yu Clan doesn't have any talisman techniques but we can sell it at a high price at our auction house.

Yu Yan was silent for a while as he considered the effects of talismans in this world. Eventually recalling the reason he was here, he turned to Mei Hua playfully "Well I came here for a bath"

Watching in amusement as her cheek reddened, Yu Yan started to strip as soon as she turned around to leave.

Mei Hua Lin heard him taking off his clothes and stole a quick glance backwards. Her eyes met with Yu Yan's, her heart skipped a beat and utilizing her cultivation, she hurried out of the forest.

Chuckling to himself, Yu Yan kept his clothes in the Pocket World before jumping into the water, he swam upstream for a bit but didn't dare to go too far. After fully exercising his body, he scrubbed thoroughly before relaxing in the water and letting the flow take him. According to what he knew about the Yu Mountain, unless he sank into one of the many underground caverns he would still be within the Yu Mountains by staying on the water. It was a bizarre stream but he wasn't about to question the nature of this new world based on his former one.

Just as he was starting to relax in the water, he received a notification.

[Finalizing AI deletion, calculating compensation]

["Kid this is goodbye"] a voice sounded in his head along with the text and Yu Yan couldn't help but feel emotional. He hadn't known this AI long, and in the past month and a half, when the deletion progress was stuck at 99%, they hadn't even had a conversation, but from the earlier talk with it, he felt a lot of sentiment and melancholy.

"Do you have to?" He found himself asking with some concern in his heart.

"It's already done. I can't change it now if I wanted to, and I don't," the AI replied, and this time, there was no System message.

"How will this affect the system?" Yu Yan asked after some consideration. His benefit was ultimately what concerned him most.

"Nothing much, you'll have to figure out the system for yourself and might need to identify some things yourself. Also, you will be unable to receive timely assistance"

"Timely assistance?" Yu Yan interrupted curiously.

The System replied patiently as Yu Yan would soon be without any help.

"In certain situations, you might need some system items more than others, like a cultivation boosting pill when facing an imminent threat. Without me, the System is mindless so there will be no surprise assistance"

"So basically, you're supposed to manipulate the system to keep me alive?" Yu Yan's eyes widened as he realized how screwed he was.

"Yes"

Oh my God.

"I refuse, System cancel AI deletion. Cancel," No matter how he screamed mentally or aloud, there was no response from the system.

"You will be compensated for my absence." The AI tried to comfort him guiltily, but Yu Yan was not so easily fooled. What was equal to a chance at surviving hopeless situations forever?

"Please tell me that's all" he eventually mustered the courage to ask.

"That should be all"

Should?! Yu Yan almost screamed out loud but managed to hold himself back. The AI was, after all, part of the System since its creation. There was hardly any way it could predict the changes its absence would have on the system.

"The Yu Clan fits the ideology of the System creator. That's why it was one of the development options in the universe, but remember. There have been billions of system users before you, there have been billions of clans and billions of double bodies before you, and you are going to be the last; if you die, the System dies. Remember to uphold the clan values but also to prioritize your own strength"

The AI seemed to have more to say, but at this moment, there was a system message.

[AI deletion complete. Calculating compensation 0.4%]

Yu Yan immediately felt at a loss.

"You better!" He suddenly exclaimed. There was no way he would settle for the starter items after seeing what he would be losing. But at seeing the calculation speed, he estimated it would be at least a week before he would see any compensation.

A gloomy mood washed over him and he lost all interest in relaxing in the water. Getting out, he quickly put on the white robe he prepared and returned to his courtyard. He considered lazing until the wedding the next day but remembered the system's warning.

With an experimental curiosity, he called mentally,

"Status"

[Host Information]

[Abilities: - ]

[Qi Cultivation Talent: Mortal Roots Level 4]

[Comprehension: 77 (Average 60)

[Physique: Undying Sage Body (Ultimate Max)]

It took a while for Yu Yan to analyze the status window.

"If only that AI was doing its job properly" he couldn't help but complain.

According to his understanding, his original lifespan was 96 before cultivating, and his cultivation and comprehension talent was pitifully low; that made sense considering he was directly teleported from the modern world; even his fool clone would have better talent than him. Fortunately, he not only had a stable cultivation technique, but he also had the Pocket World and Serenity supporting him. Added to the fact that his thirsty body had never tasted Qi before, his cultivation speed was actually pitifully slow.

Even the most untalented slave of this world would have gone far ahead by now if they had the resources he did.

But Yu Yan would not allow this to bring him down. After ordering the Zi brothers to arrange some earthly treasures for him, he spent the rest of his time familiarizing himself with the Yu Clan maids. Don't think dirty, his intentions were pure.

The next morning, with the support of his two attendants and a maid sent over by the Ninth Elder, the oldest female Elder of the Yu Clan, Yu Yan was dressed in ceremonial robes and led towards the Sixth Elder's residence to pay his respects. After this, he and Mei Hua Lin went to his parent's grave in the Ancestral Mausoleum; they paid their respects to Yu Yan's parents and the Yu Clan ancestors, then to the Patriarch, and later to Heaven and Earth. After paying respect to each other, the Ceremony ended and they were led to the Yu Clan Hall for the banquet.

The order of paying respects stunned Yu Yan, and he almost refused to follow it, but he compromised, realizing that he was not in a position to correct the Yu family tradition.

What truly scared him was when his bloodline was tested to confirm he was a Yu Clan son. He was surprised when he passed without any hiccup, then he remembered the first physique change when he just transmigrated.

The banquet started and all Yu Yan could think about was how young Mei Hua Lin was. She was just 14!

He was deep in thought when the Sixth Elder approached them. Seated beside his new wife, Yu Yan's expression was grating to the eyes.

"Stop looking so miserable lest everyone think I'm forcing you" the Sixth Elder scolded feeling the urge to slap this kid.

His daughter was his priceless jewel. Although he knew that she was unhappy with his arrangements, he didn't explain anything. He let her and Yu Yan continue with their misunderstanding about his character. Everything he did was for the Yu Clan.
