Loving the Monster

"I'm sorry Dorian"

Dorian couldn't speak, he was just stunned, he knew in his heart what she meant, but he couldn't quite understand it and he didn't want to believe it

"Is that him?" the being from the fire spoke, his eyes shining an ominous glow.

"Yes," she said,

Dorian was putting it all together: the sacrifice, her transformation, the being in the fire, it's who she's been talking to all this time.

He felt danger approaching fast; he could hear everything around him. Monsters were closing in on all sides drawn by the presence of the ominous being.

With tears welling in his eyes and through a watery view, he turned and saw a flashing eye in the darkness of the dead woods; more began to appear all around him.

He heard something land just by his feet, it sounded empty and hollow. He looked down and saw that it was a burnt skull. He broke down, falling to his knees with tears pouring out of his eyes.

He looked up at her, Her red hair was still floating around the space. She had thrown the skull at him, and with one look in her eyes, he could tell she had changed.

And looking at the skull, he finally accepted it; Mr Dunn was dead. His remains burned at the altar, fueling the presence of the ominous figure. He felt an immense pain in his heart, he screamed at Estiah,

"What have you done, Estiah!"

With tears pouring out of his eyes, he begged her for some reason to all this, some sense to this madness. But I was all already done and it was no joke.

"Tell me it's not true, he screamed at her, tell me you didn't kill him!"

She looked at him with affection in her eyes and said,

"I really was happy to see you alive, Dio, remember I always called you that, I may never call you that again, so remember me by that, this is goodbye, Dorian"

"What do you mean goodbye tell me what you've done"

"Take my hand, the being said, ascend to the pinnacle of death, Hell's Estiah, the new mother of chaos."

She turned away from him, and without any reluctance, he took his hand.

"What is this!" he screamed at her.

Then the being pulled her into the fire and she disappeared into the flames. The fire had been refined into a portal to a different place, to a different life. Her very long red hair remained outside of it but it was going in fast.

Dorian quickly ran and took hold of it in an effort to pull her back from the portal, but the hair he grabbed came off so easily, and the rest of it went into the fire and disappeared, and then the fire died down slowly.

Dorian stood there, mentally broken and defeated; he could hear the growling of large black dogs, hell hounds, and beasts of hell all gathering all around him.

They had all been compelled here by the lord of the first hell, the chaos God, Indra, the being that took Estiah, but Dorian couldn't care less; survival was pointless now; what would he survive for? Who would he live for?

With them all gathering there and lord Indra gone, the compulsion was about to wear off; it was about to be a bloodbath, with predators and prey deciding who was which.

Dorian could feel his senses becoming more alarmed moment after moment, but he couldn't react; he couldn't process the hurt in his heart.

He felt a painful conflict brewing in his mind. The love he had for her, conflicted with what she had done.

She couldn't have done it, he thought. That man made her. His efforts to create his own disbelief weren't strong enough to deny the facts, but he wanted to convince himself all the same.

Dorian put his hand to his face and cried bitterly. Mr Dunn's skull was a few feet away from him, and he heard it crack and break into pieces; he turned and saw the giant furry leg of a black dog; it had crushed the skull with it.

A monster stood over fifteen feet tall. He looked up, and he met its cloudy white eyes, and in a swift move, it swallowed him whole.

The monsters began to fight and consume each other. Dorian could feel himself being ground in the monster's teeth. He couldn't take it anymore.

He couldn't stand being trampled upon, being treated like trash, everything he'd ever wanted and dreams of constantly kept being spat upon and he wanted revenge.

He wanted his revenge on them all, on life, on Estiah, on Indra, on all the gods, on the whole world.

His will to live got stronger and stronger as he wanted nothing more, nothing but vengeance; he hungered for it, and with hunger came gluttony.

It's that guy's fault that she spoke with that night, she wore that perfume for him, does she love him, she killed Mr Dunn, or was it him, he made her do it..

He remembered the look on her face her remembered her words

"Sorry Dorian"

"No, she wanted to, she wanted to slaughter us all; she put the axe through my head; I could taste it as I died; it was blood on the axe; it wasn't mine; she'd killed him, then she tried to kill me. I'm so cold right now, I'm so hungry."

His consciousness was still alive, as he had been swallowed, he felt the primal hunger fill his consciousness; he was overcome by the taste for it; he wanted beef and rice and hot pot stew, he wanted the farm potatoes, he wanted to eat something, he wanted to eat anything.

So his dismembered and chewed-up body began consuming the black god from the inside out. He started to regenerate, his lungs began to form again, his head and his heart, and the black dog began to die.

It dropped down on the floor. Its size had shrunken; it looked drained of all its life and substance, but still, it had bone and a little skin left, so he ate that, too.

He ate it till there was nothing left around him. He was just standing there in a pool of dog blood, the monsters had been consuming each other and fighting each other, but when he stood there, they stopped, they all felt his lust for food, his insatiable thirst and hunger, and they all fled.

He chased after them mad with hunger

Food will kill it, if I eat enough, I'll forget, I'll forget this ever happened, I'll eat my way to peace, I'll eat my way to serenity, and I'll consume paradise!

Ever since the rebirth of the sin of gluttony, a few had sensed him, and amongst them was none other than Hellena Gore, the one hundred and sixth daughter of Aires, a war mother.

She had chased after his scent all the way from paradise and onto the wastelands into the three hells; she had traveled day and night and without a moment's rest chasing after him, and now she was in the dead woods.

She had sensed Indra's presence and wondered what would draw him to a place like this. She hid her presence and stayed still till he had left, but now she had monsters to deal with.

She easily fought her way through them, trying to make her way out of the dead woods; then she felt the hunger of the firstborn sin and knew she had found her biggest catch yet.
