She slaughtered her way to him. She found him passed out on a half-eaten carcass with a monster eating his guts.
She fired a couple of shots and blew the monster to bits with her gun. He walked to where he was and kicked it off, Dorian. She picked him up by his hand with no affection whatsoever then she heard a sloshing sound she looked down and saw her organs rubbing against each other and protruding out of his stomach, before she could react they fell out and landed on her shoes
She wrapped her arm around his back and her other arm behind his knee and lifted him off the floor; she kept her back straight and kept him close, then walked away with him.
.....
When he awoke from his long sleep, it was the afternoon and he was lying on the grass.
He could see the pale blue sky; he looked around, raising his head from the grass, and in the distance, he saw Hellena.
She was in the river, he quickly realized she was in her underwear, so he buried his head in the grass.
What is she doing there? He wondered
She held a spear in her hand, and it looked like she was trying to catch a fish. He realized he was wearing pants now; they were made of animal skin, and he recognized the fur; it was the skin of a black dog, but it still had a little of a soft texture.
She did this for me? He thought.
He looked up at her and remembered she was naked. He hid his face again, he was blushing.
No come on, don't do it, it's not right
Come on do it, a faint voice in his head cried.
I'm not doing it!
The voice had a life of its own as well as power; he felt an immense pressure on his will. He couldn't resist anymore, he raised his head reluctantly and looked. He looked around but she wasn't there.
Oh no, maybe she saw me! She could jump out of any place now.
He started to panic, then she came out of the water with a big splash; she shook her hair, throwing off the water on it.
Dorian caught a glimpse of her body; he hadn't seen a woman like that before; her skin was wet and clean and gave off a smooth and supple feel.
He felt his body grow hotter by the minute but couldn't look away. Then she turned in his direction, and he quickly dropped his head into the dirt.
He could hear her moving through the water, he hadn't heard that sound since the farm, then he wondered,
Where did she find a river in the middle of the wastelands? Unless we're not in the wastelands anymore then where could we be?
"So you're awake!" She said
Her voice alarmed him, he almost bit the dirt
"Yes", he said in a shaky voice.
"I brought you out here cause I feared you'd run off somewhere, it's nice to see you didn't attempt to"
Dorian said nothing
"So Dio's, your name right?"
It's Dorian, he said in a shy shaky tone
"Dorian," she said to her sale out loud. "I kinda like it, it's not my taste but it's not like you'll let me call you Dio"
How could she know that name? He wondered
"Are you alright, Dio?"
"I'm fine thank you"
"Are you sure?" she said.
"Yes I'm alright"
"Let me see your eyes"
What!
"Raise your head, Dio, I wanna see your eyes"
Dorian reluctantly raised his head; he had a deep fear for her; he knew what she could do to him, the many ways she could kill him, fast and slow, but surely he had no choice. So he kept his eyes closed and raised his head.
She looked a little confused as to why he'd closed his eyes
"Can you open them please?"
Dorian slowly opened his eyes, and the instant he saw her staring at him like she was giving him an examination.
"That's good", she said
She only had her underwear on; he could see so much of her all at once, from her perfectly feminine muscles to the scars on her hips to her smooth thighs.
It was too much for his senses; he lay there while a nearly seven-foot woman towered over him.
"You've been through a lot Dio, it may be hard to process it all now but it will pass"
She was there that day, he thought. She rescued me,
"Wanna eat Dio?", she asked.
He nodded and thought, why is she calling me Dio? That was Estiah's. She must know my name is Dorian, or does she think it sucks?
…..
A little while later she started a small fire and roasted the fishes she had caught over it. Dorian hid behind a tree, he wanted to ask her where they were but couldn't find the courage to.
Dio!
She called out to him, and it startled him; he quickly got up and walked up to her. He remembered Estiah, he remembered the look she gave him by the altar.
How did it all end up like this, he wondered. He looked across the woods and it all felt peaceful like back at the farm,
"I wish you were here to see this Mr. Dunn"
The image of his burnt skull flashed through his mind, the red hair of Estiah flowing like waves, and then the pain began to grow in his heart.
He made it to Hellena; she sat by the river bank, over the fire, holding a stick with a fish impaled in the end.
She looked up and saw him, then she said
Are you hurt
"What? I'm not"
"But there's tears on your face"
Then Dorian realized she was correct
"Are you injured?"
"No, they've all healed"
"Then why are you crying?"
"I don't know, it's just, internal"
"your bleeding internally?"
"No! It's how I feel"
She turned back to her fish and looked deep into the fire then she said
"Why don't you feel something else"
"Like how?" he felt a bit scared asking
"A different kind of pain"
"Would that work"
"You should try it," she said.
He looked at the fire, images of Estiah flooded his mind, images of the sacrifice, the burning fire, the portal, lord Indra, he couldn't take it anymore he wanted them gone so he braced himself and without thinking about it he stuck his hand into the fire, he looked up at her and she smiled at him. Then it began to hurt, so he brought his hand out; he looked at the brunt hand, and all that filled his mind was the pain of the pain; he didn't and smiled and fell on the sand and laughed. Hellena handed him a skewered fish.
He reached for it and took it off her hand. She was still in her underwear so he felt really shy getting that close to her, then she said,
"Thank you"
