WE FIGHT

"It's time to go back, love," he said softly as he pulled away from me. "You need to complete your mission."

Hades watched me with that same piercing gaze, his violet eyes hiding whatever emotion he was feeling at the moment. The heat from our passion still lingered between us but now, a different kind of fire burned in my chest.

"I don't want to go back," I whispered. The words tasted like surrender and yet, they felt like the truth. "There's nothing left for me there."

"I've been through so much. I'm done," I said firmly.

Hades sighed, running a hand through his raven-black hair. "Dahlia, if you give up now, everything you've suffered, everything you've lost will all be for nothing." His voice was deep, steady and unyielding.

"Is that what you want?"

I swallowed hard. "I don't know what I want."

"Yes, you do," he said, stepping closer. "You want justice. You want to make them pay."
