All Raven ever wanted was a chance — to go to college, make friends, be loved, and live like any other girl her age. But dreams, it seemed, weren’t meant for people like her.

Then the men began to charge towards her.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you guys," Raven said, halting the men in their tracks. "I came to see you, Donovan. You haven't spoken yet."

Donovan regarded Raven, his eyes glinting murderously. Throughout his life, he had always been feared, by both men and women. But a woman is here, sitting as though she owned the place, insulting him to his face.

"I want to tell you to stop searching for me." Raven continued, "It'll do you no good."

"And why will we do that?" Donovan spoke for the first time, his voice giving away his irritation. "You're in no place to tell us what to do, considering the state you're in. We can do crazy things to you before handing over your remains to Larry."
