Chapter 79 - Hidden Dungeons and Depths

Isabella’s POV

Another scream split the air.

My heartbeat roared in my ears, and I barely registered the people scattering across the fields below, their cries blending with the fading fireworks.

My fingers were clenched so tightly around the banister that the wood creaked in my grip. I forced myself to release it and took a step back. Then another.

Sebastian made no attempt to stop me. He didn’t move. Didn’t even blink. He simply stood there, watching my tentative retreat while chaos unfolded around us.

He didn’t seem surprised or caught off guard by the disruption to the fireworks display, as if he’d been expecting it. Almost anticipating it. Had he known for certain or simply had an inkling?

Did he know I had the key to the dungeons?

Did it matter?

Did his knowing change what I had to do?

No.

The answer whispered through my mind. And without any more hesitation, I turned and ran.

“Enjoy your game, Little Moon!” Sebastian called after me as I ran off the platform.
