Chapter 93: Goliath

BOOM—

With overwhelming force, the massive creature known as Goliath shook off the debris clinging to its body and crashed through the shattered wall. Its brutal presence radiated sheer power as it barreled forward like a living mountain, shaking the ground with every step.

Blake stood firm, his eyes flashing with sharp focus as he gazed at the charging beast.

"Fall back."

At his command, Ais and the others quickly retreated, pulling Lili and Lefiya with them to clear the battlefield.

THUD—

A powerful shockwave erupted as Goliath slammed its fists into the ground. The resulting blast sent dust and rubble flying in all directions.

This was the aftermath of an air cannon attack fired straight from Goliath's mouth. The sheer force behind it was well beyond what even a Level 5 or possibly a Level 6 adventurer could produce.

But that wasn't surprising.

Despite being classified as a Level 4 monster, Goliath was a Floor Boss—a creature whose stats were far superior to other monsters of the same level. Its raw strength alone far exceeded that of an average Level 5 or 6 adventurer.

However, its overwhelming power came at a cost.

Goliath's agility and dexterity were pitiful—so low that even a Level 2 adventurer could outmaneuver it with ease.

For someone like Blake, it was just a large, slow-moving target.

No matter how powerful an attack was, if it couldn't hit, it was meaningless.

As Goliath roared and lunged forward, Blake effortlessly sidestepped its strike. Finn and the others watched in stunned silence as a golden radiance flickered to life in Blake's hands.

A noble and majestic aura filled the battlefield as a sword materialized from thin air.

A weapon of legend—Excalibur, the Sword of Promised Victory.

The moment Blake gripped the hilt, his presence changed. His aura sharpened, his stance firm, like a blade drawn from its sheath—calm, yet utterly lethal.

Raising Excalibur high above his head, Blake watched as Goliath opened its mouth, gathering energy for another devastating air cannon.

Brilliant golden particles of light coalesced around the holy sword, crackling with immense magical energy.

Then—

With a sharp gleam in his crystalline blue eyes, Blake swung the blade in a powerful upward arc.

BOOM!

A blinding beam of golden light erupted from Excalibur, slicing through the air at speeds surpassing sound itself.

The moment it collided with Goliath's incoming air cannon, the attack was obliterated instantly. Without losing momentum, the beam struck the massive creature head-on.

A deafening explosion followed.

The sheer force of the impact engulfed Goliath in radiant destruction, the brilliance so intense that Finn and the others were forced to shield their eyes.

A powerful shockwave rippled outward, forcing the Loki Familia to retreat further to avoid getting caught in the aftermath.

As the dust settled, the battlefield fell into eerie silence.

Goliath was gone.

Not a single trace of the Floor Boss remained. No corpse. No magic stone. Nothing.

The only thing left behind was a half-meter-deep crater carved into the earth, scorched black from the immense heat of the attack.

Blake lowered Excalibur and examined the aftermath with a satisfied nod.

"I held back, but even so... the power of the Holy Sword is on another level."

He mused to himself, feeling the weight of Excalibur in his grasp. This wasn't even close to its full potential. If he had unleashed its true might, the entire Dungeon floor could have been annihilated, possibly even bringing down the ceiling and burying them all.

After all, Excalibur was a city-destroying weapon.

As Blake sheathed the glowing sword, a stunned silence hung in the air.

Finn, Riveria, Gareth, Lefiya, the Amazonian twins, Bete, and Lili all stared at Blake in sheer disbelief.

What had they just witnessed?

A single strike. That was all it took.

A Level 4 Floor Boss—an opponent that even high-ranking adventurers had to work together to take down—was completely obliterated in an instant.

Even Ais, who already had a high opinion of Blake, was left speechless. She had never seen him use such an overwhelming attack before.

They all knew that while Goliath's official level was 4, its physical durability was comparable to a Level 6. It was a beast of pure endurance, requiring prolonged battles and heavy attacks to take down.

But Blake had erased it with one swing.

If that attack had been aimed at them instead of Goliath...

Finn, Riveria, and Gareth exchanged uneasy glances. They were all Level 6 adventurers, some of the strongest in Orario. But at this moment, they couldn't shake the feeling that if they had been the target of that attack, they wouldn't have survived.

"…Did I overdo it?"

Blake finally spoke, noticing the way everyone was still frozen in shock.

He had only wanted to test Excalibur's capabilities, but judging by their reactions, he may have caused more of a scene than intended.

But then again, considering what Excalibur was, their reaction made sense.

"I may have underestimated you," Finn admitted, offering a wry smile.

He had believed Blake to be strong, but this level of power was beyond anything he had expected. Riveria's magic could also bring down Goliath, but it required chanting and time to prepare. Blake's attack had required neither.

"Tch."

Bete clicked his tongue in frustration, but the last of his defiance faded. He finally understood why Blake hadn't needed a weapon before—because when he used one, it was a weapon beyond anything they had ever seen.

"Captain Finn, you're thinking too much," Blake said with a light smile, his tone casual. He wasn't the type to brag, and he had no intention of flaunting Excalibur's power.

"I just can't figure you out…"

Finn let out a helpless chuckle. In all his years as an adventurer, he had never encountered someone like Blake.

A mere Level 1, yet physically comparable to a Level 5. His techniques and abilities were more refined than even their Level 6 elites.

Such an anomaly had never existed in Orario's history.

Was this what it was like to meet a hero of legend?

As Finn pondered this, Ais stood nearby, her golden eyes fixed on Excalibur.

She had a feeling…

A strong feeling that the overwhelming power Blake had just displayed was directly tied to that sword.

After a moment, the silence broke as Tiona, Tione, Lili, and even the usually quiet Ais gathered around Blake, bombarding him with questions about his technique.

Blake only smiled mysteriously, giving vague answers, which only fueled their curiosity further.

It wasn't until Finn and Riveria intervened that the group finally calmed down.

"Blake, are you heading to the 18th floor?" Ais suddenly asked, a trace of anticipation in her voice.

At her question, Finn and the others turned their attention back to Blake. They were still incredibly curious about this mysterious adventurer and wouldn't mind spending more time with him.

"The 18th floor, huh?"

Blake thought for a moment before nodding.

"Sure. I don't have anything else to do, so I'll check it out."

The moment he agreed, the group visibly brightened.

Well—most of them.

Bete simply turned away, uninterested, while Lefiya silently glared at Blake.

She couldn't help but feel annoyed.

Blake was getting so close to Ais—the person she admired most.

Noticing the jealousy in Lefiya's expression, Blake simply sighed and shook his head.

This was going to be an interesting trip.
