"Who is it… a dragon?!"
Kokabiel's expression darkened as his barrier was forcibly broken. He roared into the sky, but before he could finish, he saw the massive creature hovering above him. Stunned, he muttered in surprise,
"That is…?"
In the crater below, Xenovia and Irina, both battered and covered in wounds, struggled to look up. Their ragged breaths caught in their throats as they saw the enormous white dragon soaring above them.
"Kokabiel… a survivor of the three way war."
As the words fell, light footsteps echoed. Under the watchful eyes of Kokabiel, Xenovia, and Irina, a figure emerged, standing atop the dragon's head.
His silver hair swayed with the night wind, matching the dragon's pristine white scales. Crystal-blue eyes gazed downward with calm intensity, locking onto Kokabiel.
"Hmm? Isn't this the rumored boyfriend of that little Gremory girl?" Kokabiel chuckled mockingly, his malicious eyes scanning Blake. "I didn't expect a dragon to be your familiar. Now, that's a surprise."
He then burst into wild laughter, his voice filled with twisted amusement.
"Even unknown dragons are getting involved in my game! This is truly entertaining!"
He has a dragon of this caliber by his side?!
Xenovia and Irina were at a loss for words. They had been arrogant enough to challenge devils using only their Holy Swords. But now, standing before them wasn't just any devil, it was Blake, a warrior wielding the true Excalibur. And above them, a dragon powerful enough to annihilate them both with ease.
"Kanna, attack him," Blake said softly, paying no attention to Kokabiel's laughter.
"Okay, Big Brother Blake."
At Kanna's gentle yet firm response, cyan lightning crackled around her white-scaled body. The air vibrated from the sheer intensity of her power.
The moment Blake leapt off her back, Kanna transformed into a blazing beacon of cyan lightning.
"SWOOSH!"
A thick bolt of blue lightning sliced through the night sky, hurtling toward Kokabiel.
"Hahaha! This lightning… it's almost on par with Baraqiel's! So, you're no ordinary dragon after all!"
Instead of fear, Kokabiel's grin widened with excitement. His light sword flared, forming a massive blade of pure energy as he swung it toward the incoming attack.
The two forces clashed in mid-air, locking in a fierce struggle. The impact generated deafening shockwaves, shaking the surroundings. Neither side gave an inch.
"This crow is stronger than I expected," Blake muttered, watching the battle unfold.
He then turned his gaze to the two injured girls below and shook his head.
"You look terrible. Seems like he gave you quite the lesson."
"Agh…" Xenovia coughed, spitting blood. She forced a weak smile. "Kokabiel… he's a relic of the ancient war. We underestimated his power. Irina and I… we were defeated instantly. If he hadn't wanted to toy with us, we would've died in the first second."
"Yeah…" Irina gritted her teeth, struggling to sit up. "We thought we had at least a 30% chance of completing the mission. But looking at this now… forget 30%, we have no chance at all."
Blake sighed.
"I told you before, the Church betrayed you. And as you just admitted, you never had a chance. Kokabiel isn't even fighting seriously yet."
Xenovia and Irina froze at his words.
Blake's eyes narrowed as he analyzed Kokabiel.
Fallen Angel Cadre – Kokabiel
Age: ???
Strength: Peak Ultimate-Class → Pseudo Satan-Class
Luck Value: 647
Notes: A minor villain in the world of High School DxD. A war-crazed madman. Strong compared to most beings but still weaker than the old devils who devoured Ophis's snake to reach Pseudo Satan-Class.
So, this guy's stronger than I originally thought… I figured he was mid-Ultimate-Class at best.
"You're telling me… this isn't his full strength?!" Xenovia and Irina asked in shock.
Blake nodded.
"Yes. Despite how intense the fight seems, both Kanna and Kokabiel are only using about 10% of their power. They're holding back."
He let the night breeze blow through his sleeves as he continued.
"If they truly fought at full power, just the aftermath would be enough to erase this entire city."
Both girls shuddered.
"The reason they're holding back? Kokabiel doesn't want to ruin his next plan, and Kanna is restraining herself because I told her to."
Xenovia and Irina went silent, their faces pale.
This… this is just 10%?!
The Church actually sent us to fight this level of opponent?!
Seeing their shaken expressions, Blake smirked.
If he wanted to win them over, he needed to shatter their faith in the Church first. He had to make them witness true power, the kind of power that would make them realize how insignificant their mission truly was.
"BOOM!"
At that moment, the battle above reached its breaking point.
The intense collision of light and lightning created a massive energy sphere, twisting in on itself before violently exploding!
The resulting shockwave tore through the air. The church, already weakened from the earlier battle, couldn't withstand the force, it shattered into rubble, sending debris flying everywhere.
Blake didn't flinch.
As the explosion neared, hundreds of swords materialized around him, forming an impenetrable barrier.
The solid defense of pure sword energy blocked every piece of debris, deflecting the deadly force away.
A sword wasn't just a weapon for attack, it could be a shield as well.
This was the true mastery of One Sword to Rule All.
