Chapter 147: What is Strength?

"Brat, did you just say you'd use me as a punching bag?!" Kokabiel's voice was filled with rage. "You're arrogant! Don't think for a second that you can defeat me just because you took my light sword. That attack was only a tenth of my strength!"

The battlefield was still tense from Kokabiel's earlier display of power. The pressure he exerted had nearly crushed the spirits of everyone present. But now, as they steadied themselves, they saw something that made their jaws drop Blake looking down at Kokabiel as if he wasn't even a threat.

That was enough to push the fallen angel over the edge. His fury erupted, and his energy surged wildly. The sheer force of his aura sent shockwaves through the air, making Koneko and Asia struggle to breathe under the crushing weight.

And yet…

Blake didn't even flinch. He barely acknowledged Kokabiel's tantrum. Instead, he calmly unleashed a surge of magic energy just at the level of a High-Class Devil, but far purer than anything they'd ever seen.

Boom!

Without hesitation, Blake sheathed Frost Whisper, tucked it into his spatial ring, and whispered three words.

Instantly, a whirlwind of green energy wrapped around him the magic of his apprentice, Ais.

Then

Bang!

Blake launched himself forward. It wasn't a simple movement it was an explosive burst of power. The sheer force of his takeoff carved a crater several meters wide into the ground.

One moment, he was standing still. Next, he was right in Kokabiel's face, moving so fast that even the most experienced fighters in the area couldn't track him.

A single clenched fist slammed toward Kokabiel's chest, the air itself screaming as it was torn apart by the raw force behind it.

Bang! Crack!

Kokabiel's eyes widened. He barely had time to react, hastily summoning a golden barrier to shield himself.

But it was useless.

Blake's punch didn't just hit it, but shattered the barrier like fragile glass, the pieces dispersing into nothingness.

Before Kokabiel could process what had happened

Wham!

A devastating whip kick connected with his abdomen. The force of the impact sent him rocketing backward, vomiting blood as he crashed through a building, reducing it to rubble.

The battlefield fell into stunned silence.

"...H-He's that strong?"

Rias, Akeno, Xenovia, Irina, Koneko, and Kiba could barely comprehend what they had just witnessed. They hadn't even seen Blake move. And yet, the Kokabiel a cadre level fallen angle, someone they had barely scratched despite fighting him together had been thrown around like a ragdoll.

Was this really the power of a human?

"DAMN BRAT!!!"

A furious roar shattered the silence.

The collapsed ruins exploded outward, sending debris flying. Kokabiel emerged, his ten crimson wings flaring wide, his body trembling with rage. Blood trickled from the corner of his mouth. He wasn't unscathed Blake's attack had done real damage.

Even for someone as powerful as Kokabiel, it was impossible to ignore.

And yet, Blake wasn't even at full strength.

His body, already tougher like a dragon's, had been further enhanced by magic Ariel. His energy had been converted into Touki, amplifying his physical power even further. Every advantage stacked together, turning his body into a living weapon one that even Kokabiel struggled to deal with.

On top of that, Blake had another trick up his sleeve.

His unique magic, Perceptual Distortion, had been silently affecting the battlefield this entire time. Kokabiel's reactions, movements, and battle sense were all dulled by half. And that was more than enough for Blake to take advantage of.

"ASSHOLE!!!"

Kokabiel's fury reached its peak.

A massive light sword materialized in his hand, brimming with destructive energy. Without hesitation, he hurled it downward, aiming to obliterate everything in its path.

The sheer concentration of power in that attack was terrifying. If it landed, the entire battlefield would be wiped out.

Rias and the others wouldn't survive it.

Asia would be erased instantly.

Blake understood this in a single instant.

Without hesitation, his right hand flashed with divine radiance, and in the next moment

A gorgeous holy sword appeared in his grip.

Blake jumped, meeting the attack head-on.

Clang!

The clash between the light sword and Blake's holy sword sent shockwaves rippling through the air. Sparks erupted from the point of impact. The sheer force of their collision nearly deafened everyone watching.

Kokabiel wasn't done.

Golden energy formed in his free hand, and with a flick of his fingers, countless light swords rained down from the sky, cutting off all of Blake's escape routes.

Kokabiel smirked. "Nowhere to run, brat."

But

His smug expression froze.

Because at that moment, the holy sword in Blake's hand suddenly shone with a brilliant silver light so intense that it nearly blinded Kokabiel.

Then

Slash!

Blake's holy sword Excalibur sliced straight through Kokabiel's massive light sword, cutting it clean in half.

Kokabiel's brain struggled to keep up with what had just happened. He barely had time to react when

Blake's entire body trembled with energy.

A storm of sword energy erupted around him, each strike covered in silver light far beyond anything Kokabiel had ever seen before.

The fallen angel's instincts screamed at him, but before he could act

BOOM!

The sword energy collided with the falling light swords, triggering a massive chain reaction. Explosions filled the sky. Smoke and white-hot shockwaves rippled outward, obscuring everything.

Kokabiel gritted his teeth and unleashed his power to clear the smoke

And what he saw made his heart drop.

Ten Blakes.

All wielding the same Excalibur.

All surrounded by green energy.

And all charging straight for him.

"Magic arts?! You've gotta be kidding me!" Kokabiel snarled, summoning dual light swords in his hands. He barely had a moment to breathe before he was forced into a desperate defense, struggling to keep up with Blake's relentless assault.

From the ground, Xenovia and Irina could only stare in disbelief.

Kokabiel. A cadre level fallen angel. A warrior who had survived the previous war against God and four great Satans.

And yet…

He was being beaten by Blake.

"Pfft !"

Another burst of blood sprayed from Kokabiel's mouth.

Blake, sensing the perfect opportunity, pushed his Perceptual Distortion to the max, throwing off Kokabiel's timing.

Then

With a single, precise slash, Blake severed five of Kokabiel's wings in one blow.

The fallen angel screamed.

And Blake, standing tall, narrowed his crystal-blue eyes.
