Meliza's POV
Elijah had been gone for a while, but I was still feeling utterly lost on the front porch. The night air was cool against my skin, yet my entire body burned with emotions I didn't want to feel.
I was in pain.
It wasn't just about seeing Ethan kiss Sylvia in front of everyone but also about what it meant.
The first time I saw them kissing together was in the hallway. That kiss had been deliberate, a calculated move on Sylvia's part to make sure I knew he belonged to her.
But tonight was different.
Ethan had let the whole world know he belonged to her as he kissed Sylvia in front of all of the guests. And I had stood there, watching like a fool, pretending it didn't affect me.
I inhaled sharply, forcing my feet to move as I turned away from the porch. My legs felt heavy, each step dragging me deeper into the weight of my own thoughts.
