Chapter Five: The Answer

(Y/N's POV)

"I—uh... yes, I would love to go out with you," I manage to say, my heart racing like a wild drum in my chest. Draco's expression shifts instantly; a confident smirk spreads across his face, illuminating his features in a way that makes my stomach flip. "Good, that's good," he replies, his voice settling into a low, smooth tone that sends an undeniable shiver down my spine, a mix of excitement and nervousness.

(Author's POV)

As the tension of the moment begins to dissipate, Draco wraps Y/N in a warm embrace, his arms pulling her close, providing a comfort she didn't know she craved. When she looks up at him, her face lights up with a radiant smile, one that could rival the sun. Their fingers intertwine effortlessly, as if they were always meant to fit together, and together they stroll down the dimly lit corridors towards the Slytherin common room. The old stones seem to hum with the warmth of their shared laughter, a melody of happiness in the otherwise quiet halls. As they pass, Draco's friends look up, their expressions shifting from surprise to delight. Wide eyes and raised brows quickly melt into playful grins. "Wooop, woop! Our boy finally got the courage!" one of them calls out, their teasing cheer breaking the warm atmosphere with a hint of lighthearted mischief. Y/N's cheeks flush with embarrassment; she instinctively raises her free hand to shield her face, wishing, if only for a moment, that she could disappear into the shadows of the corridor.

(Draco's POV)

I can't help the smirk that plays on my lips as I catch the eye of my friends, the thrill of their playful banter resonating through me. When I glance back at Y/N, I see her cute blushing face half-hidden behind her arm, the rosy hue radiating from her cheeks. "You know you're adorable, right, baby?" I tease gently, and the endearment slips off my tongue with an ease that surprises me. Her blush deepens, painting her cheeks a lovely shade of crimson that makes my heart race even faster. *What is this girl doing to me?* I wonder, feeling a rush of warmth that I can't quite articulate, a fluttering in my chest that hints at something deeper than I had anticipated.
