Chapter Six: The Vanishing Act

(Y/n's POV)

{12 months later} As I stood before the ornate mirror, the soft glow of the chandelier cast a warm light over my reflection, enhancing the delicate details of my appearance. The gown clung to my figure like a whispered secret, its fabric shimmering softly with every subtle movement I made. I took a deep breath, relishing the sensation of the intricate lace and satin that cascaded around my legs, flowing like a gentle stream. Just then, a soft knock on my door echoed through the room, pulling me from my reverie. I opened it to reveal Draco standing there, his expression momentarily frozen in surprise. "You look absolutely stunning, f/n," he said, his voice imbued with warmth and sincerity, a hint of awe dancing in his eyes, drawing a shy smile from my lips.

(Author's POV)

The grand ballroom was a spectacle of life and energy, alive with laughter and the sound of melodic music wafting through the air. Guests twirled in a mesmerizing dance, their colorful outfits creating a magnificent kaleidoscope of elegance that sparkled under the twinkling lights. Amidst the vibrant chaos, Draco and Y/n found themselves enveloped in the rhythm, moving seamlessly through the crowd, lost in a moment that felt enchanting and timeless. But when Draco stepped away to fetch a drink, an unsettling emptiness filled the space beside him. Y/n was nowhere to be seen amidst the swirling mass of elegantly dressed guests, and a pang of anxiety pierced through the joy of the evening.

(Draco's POV)

Panic surged through me as I searched frantically through the sea of gracefully moving bodies, my heart racing, pounding against my chest with each passing second. *This isn't good. Where could she have gone?* I thought anxiously, scanning each familiar face with increasing desperation, straining my eyes to catch a glimpse of that radiant gown that had captivated me moments before. The enchanting ambiance of the ballroom faded into the background, replaced by the urgent need to find her—my heart instinctively knowing that the night had lost its charm without her by my side.

 The End.
