"Mina," Jungkook's voice greeted warmly.
"I brought you breakfast," she said, her voice soft. "Thought you could use some energy after last night."
There was a pause, then Jungkook replied, "Thanks. You didn't have to do that."
"I wanted to." Her tone was affectionate, and I could almost picture the way she was probably looking at him—like he was her entire world.
Something twisted in my chest, but I ignored it.
"Have you been okay? You seem… off lately," Mina asked.
"I'm fine," Jungkook said quickly. Too quickly.
I smirked. He was a terrible liar.
Unable to resist, I pushed the door open just enough to peek out. Mina was standing by the kitchen counter, her back to me. She was beautiful, with long black hair and an air of grace that made her seem like she belonged in another world.
Jungkook was standing awkwardly a few feet away from her, his body tense.
"You'd think he'd be better at acting normal," I muttered to myself, crossing my arms.
Mina turned her head slightly, as if she had heard something, and I froze.
"What was that?" she asked, looking around.
"What was what?" Jungkook said, his voice tight.
"I thought I heard something," she murmured, her eyes scanning the room. "Like someone talking."
Jungkook laughed, though it sounded forced. "You're imagining things. It's probably just the wind."
Mina frowned but didn't press the issue.
I leaned against the doorframe, smirking. "She's got good instincts. Too bad she can't see me."
Jungkook shot a glare in my direction, his jaw tightening. "You're not helping," he muttered under his breath.
"What?" Mina asked, her eyes narrowing slightly.
"Nothing!" Jungkook said quickly, turning back to her with an apologetic smile. "Sorry, just... talking to myself."
Mina's brow furrowed, but she let it go. "Are you sure you're okay, Jungkook? You've been acting so strange lately."
"I'm fine," he said, though the way his eyes flicked to me told a different story.
I decided to have a little fun. I moved closer to Mina, leaning in until my face was inches from hers.
"Boo," I whispered.
She didn't react. Not even a flinch.
I chuckled softly, stepping back. "Guess I really am a ghost."
Jungkook's expression darkened, and I could see the tension in his shoulders. "Taehyung, stop."
Mina tilted her head. "Stop what?"
"Nothing," Jungkook said quickly, running a hand through his hair. "I just... need to clean up a bit. Can we talk later?"
Mina's expression shifted, hurt flashing in her eyes. "You're pushing me away again."
"I'm not," Jungkook said, his voice softer now. "I just... need some space."
She hesitated, then sighed. "Okay. But you know you can talk to me, right? About anything."
"I know," he said, giving her a small smile.
Mina stepped closer, placing a gentle hand on his arm. "I love you, Jungkook. Don't shut me out."
My chest tightened at her words, but I stayed silent, watching as Jungkook nodded.
"I'll call you later," he promised.
Mina gave him a faint smile before turning and heading for the door. Just before she left, she paused, glancing over her shoulder.
"Take care of yourself, okay?"
"I will," Jungkook said.
When the door finally closed behind her, the room fell silent.
Jungkook let out a long sigh, running both hands through his hair.
"Well," I said, breaking the silence. "That was intense."
Jungkook turned to me, his eyes blazing. "What the hell is wrong with you? Do you want me to lose my mind?"
"Relax," I said, shrugging. "She can't see me."
"That's not the point, Taehyung!" he snapped, his voice rising. "Do you have any idea how hard it is going to keep this from her? From everyone?"
I raised an eyebrow. "It's not my fault you decided to date someone who doesn't believe in ghosts."
Jungkook groaned, dropping onto the couch and burying his face in his hands. "This is a disaster."
"Maybe," I said, leaning against the wall. "But hey, at least I'm making your life interesting."
He glared at me over his hands, and for a moment, I thought he might throw something at me.
But then he sighed, shaking his head. "You're impossible."
"And you're stuck with me," I said with a grin.
Jungkook didn't reply, but the look in his eyes told me he wasn't happy about it.
