Chapter 13. The Arrival.

Asmodeus has also joined the war, and the battle was set between Asmodeus and Siren. Without wasting a second, Siren regenerated his finger and charged forward, but Asmodeus was no longer standing there. Suddenly, someone kicked Siren from behind — it was Asmodeus.

Asmodeus was so fast that even Siren was having difficulty matching his speed, and Asmodeus wasn't even taking it seriously.

Siren summoned a battle axe and threw it towards Asmodeus. Again, Asmodeus wasn't standing there.

Siren's battle axe was only 15 cm from him when he threw it, but Asmodeus caught it and beheaded Siren.

After a second, Siren regenerated his head and said, "Don't think that a tiny creature like you can kill me, Asmodeus. I am the King of Chimerids, blessed by the Aetherians. I am Immortal. HAHAHAHAHA!" Then, Asmodeus beheaded him again.

Siren regenerated his head once more, and Asmodeus beheaded him again.

Siren then regenerated his head, used his speed, and distanced himself from Asmodeus.

Siren realized that Asmodeus was not an opponent he could underestimate.

Siren said, "Asmodeus, it was yo-" but before Siren could finish his sentence, Asmodeus beheaded him again.

Siren regenerated his head, maintained his distance, and chanted, "Oh Aetherian beings, your slave is in danger. Please help this slave of yours. Grant me divinity." Right after he finished chanting, a white light fell on him.

Siren underwent a transformation. White wings, white horns, and a white tail. He looked exactly like the Aetherians. Using his speed and power, Siren punched Asmodeus, throwing him back. "What did you think? I would believe you? You devils are the meaning of betrayal, that's why I made a contract with the Aetherians. I am invincible now! You can't kill me, ASMODEUS!"

Asmodeus summoned a scythe, and Siren summoned a battle axe. They both charged toward each other.

The force generated by the continuous clash of Siren's battle axe and Asmodeus's scythe was strong enough to throw the shadow reapers out of the throne room.

The outside of the throne room was completely destroyed by the white light that fell on Siren.

Nyxara looked toward the sky, and right in front of her eyes, numerous portals opened in the sky.

Meanwhile, the battle between Asmodeus and Siren was getting more intense by the second. Asmodeus launched a wave from his scythe, dividing the land of Meldara into two equal hemispheres. Siren then punched Asmodeus, which was blocked by Asmodeus's palm. Asmodeus grabbed Siren's head and threw him toward the ground, creating a crater with a diameter of approximately 15 km.

Siren opened his eyes to continue his fight with Asmodeus, but what he saw in the sky made him burst into laughter.

Laughing, he said, "Help has arrived for us, you devils. Aetherian mercy is here. Now, what are you going to do, damn creatures?"

But then, suddenly, numerous beings emerged from the portals, and Siren's laughter turned into despair. They were dragons, the natural-born enemies of the Chimerids.

Siren cried, "Oh Aetherian beings, please show mercy! Please save this loyal slave of yours. I beg you all! Save me. You can have my wife, my children, my people, and even my planet. Just please save me!"

The proud Siren was now nothing more than a disgrace. For his own life, he was ready to sacrifice his family, his people, and his planet.

Suddenly, a dragon launched a beam of light from its mouth. But before it could strike Siren, a portal opened beneath him, and he fell into it.

Ignis and his friends were now even more worried because an army a hundred times stronger than Siren's had arrived on Meldara.

Then, suddenly, a very large portal appeared in the sky above Meldara, and someone very divine came out of it. She was the Princess of the Dragons.

The entire army and the princess descended to the ground. The moment they touched the ground, a very strong pressure was felt by the shadow reapers. They realized they were facing beings who could end their lives in a tenth of a second.

However, whether it was instinct or something else, they raised their guard.

The Princess of Dragons said to them, "You devils don't have to raise your guard. I am Alina, Alina Draconis, the princess of all the dragons in the world and the daughter of the current ruler of the planet, Dragoon. I pose no harm to you devils, nor hatred — at least for now. So, you devils can rest assured, I am not your enemy. We are the natural-born enemies of the Chimerids, and a few months ago, we all felt a disbalance in the universe. As we feared, it was the Aetherians behind those feelings we all sensed."

The Shadow Reapers, after hearing Alina's words, still couldn't let down their guard. It was not even their mistake — the dragons' aura was enough to make them fall into despair.

Ignis asked Alina, "What disbalance? What Aetherians? What are you even talking about?"

Alina replied to Ignis, "You have a very pretty face, but despite that pretty face, you still don't know anything about this universe. Let me warn you, soon enough, this whole universe is going to be engulfed in a war — a war we Draganions can't stop."

Alina then continued, "Let me, the princess of all the dragons, tell you about us. We are the ones who live on the planet Dragoon. From birth, we have always taken care of this universe. Even the slightest disbalance could end this universe. You are all still alive because of our efforts."

Right when she finished her sentence, pressure fell on the shadow reapers, forcing them to their knees. Then Alina said, "It's okay, Sir Kael, I kind of like this guy. You can let them stand."

She then turned to the shadow reapers, "He is Kael, Kael Volkarr, the supreme commander of the army of Dragoon."

Then she asked Ignis, "What's your name?"

Ignis replied, "Ignis."

Alina asked Ignis if he had a surname, and Ignis told her that devils don't have surnames. Alina said to Ignis, "What? Don't your kind, Lucife-" but before she could finish her sentence, someone from the dark interrupted, "Let's cut the chit-chat and come to the point. Do you have any business with us, Alina?" asked Asmodeus.

Before Alina could say anything, Kael spoke, "Mind your tongue, devil. She is not Alina for you. She is 'Your Highness' for you."

And Alina said, "You heard Kael, didn't you? Asmodeus."

Asmodeus replied, "Oh, my my, I am scared."

Kael then said, "We came here to hunt down Siren, but now he is gone. I can see that your side has also faced much damage."

He then said to Alina, "Your Highness, our work ends here. We should now go back and report to the queen."

Alina nodded and then touched Ignis's shoulder. The moment she touched him, she felt something she had never felt before and said to Ignis, "You have a lot of potential inside you. Say, why don't you come to Dragoon? We will make you a million times stronger than you currently are."

Kael opposed her suggestion, but Alina still handed Ignis the Dragoon Scroll with her signature.

The Dragon Scroll is a scroll that creates a portal through which anyone can travel to the planet Dragoon. But if their scroll doesn't bear the signature of the royal family of the planet Dragoon, they are considered enemies.

She then whispered something into Ignis's ear, "Be aware of your own kind."

Then, the entire army of dragons returned to the portal from which they came, and in a second, the portal disappeared.

Asmodeus asked Ignis what Alina had whispered to him.

Ignis replied, "She said that she'll be waiting for me."

Ignis didn't understand why he lied to Asmodeus, but he knew it was best for the moment.

Asmodeus thought that Ignis was telling the truth.

They all looked around, seeing millions of dead bodies from both the Chimerid soldiers and the devil soldiers. Suddenly, Ignis remembered the commander and ran toward him. Ashkaris's condition was the worst among all the commanders, and he needed urgent first aid.

Lilithra provided the necessary first aid to Ashkaris and all the commanders.

The Following Month

Every injured commander and soldier was transported back to Nethralis for better treatment. They had won Meldara, but at what cost?

Mira, the vice commander of the Hellflame Phalanx, was dead. All the commanders had suffered severe injuries in the battle.

Asmodeus called all the soldiers, commanders, and vice commanders to the Nether Spire and gave a speech, "Those who are still in despair, remember this is the true meaning of war. We lose comrades, friends, and some family members, but remember, they sacrificed themselves for the better of us. Don't make their death look like an insult. They died for Nethralis. Their sacrifice should never be forgotten by any of us. Those who fall will always be in our hearts. All hail Lord Luciferal."

The war was over, and the jurisdiction of Meldara was yet to be announced.

Two Weeks Later

Two weeks later, everyone had almost recovered from the war, and an announcement was set up by the Emperor of Devils, Luciferal, in the capital of Nethralis, Vulkaris.

The announcement was related to the jurisdiction of Meldara, and Luciferal was also present there, but no one could see him because he was covered with a dark cloak that hid his face. No one was allowed to approach him, except the royal guards and the supreme commander, Asmodeus.

Asmodeus announced, "All hail Lord Luciferal. Our emperor, Lord Luciferal, has decided who will take the jurisdiction of Meldara."

He continued, "Many of you don't know what Meldara is. It is the realm we won by providing purification to the King of Meldara, Siren."

Asmodeus and the royal family never wanted normal devils to know about the war, so they used terms like "purification" to keep them in the dark.

"During the purification period, the Hellflame Phalanx had the most contribution and they also lost their vice commander, Mira. So, the jurisdiction of Meldara has been given to the Hellflame Phalanx and to their commander, Ashkaris," said Asmodeus.

Right after he finished his sentence, everyone in the crowd started clapping and cheering for Ashkaris. Then everyone started saying, "All hail his majesty."

Ignis had now decided to go to the planet of dragons, Dragoon. The jurisdiction of Meldara was the perfect opportunity to go there, as he knew the supreme commander wouldn't let him open a portal in Nethralis.
