Chapter 2

My sister might have been irritated by my grin.

I was positioned at the front to eliminate the undead.

In her previous existence, my sister felt assured when she selected the electricity-based power.

She squandered her gift because the ability needed enhancements.

At first, the electric power could only generate a faint spark, barely enough to slow a zombie momentarily.

She believed she could overcome everything with her ability.

However, her first zombie kill resulted in mayhem, causing the loss of many of Julio's followers and earning his resentment.

Countless zombies began advancing towards us, like predators attracted to a scent.

My knife-wielding hand quivered slightly.

In my past life, I was heavily guarded and hadn't directly confronted zombies in quite some time.

I concentrated intensely on the closest zombie, holding my breath.

I activated my ability precisely, and the mild electric jolt momentarily stunned the zombie, seizing that instant.

I drove the knife forcefully into the zombie's skull!

Blood gushed out, and I swiftly pulled the handle back, repeatedly.

I managed to handle it before another zombie approached.

I promptly used the electric shock again, repeating the process on the next zombie.

Eventually, my hand was too stiff to lift, my entire body drenched in blood, my ability depleted, lying motionless on the ground.

"You performed admirably."

Julio's distinct voice sounded, smiling, "You, a female, single-handedly eliminated ten zombies."

I opened my weary eyes, observing my sister's face contorted with envy.

She forced a smile, feigning concern, "Sister, you're incredible, but with all that blood, you weren't bitten, were you?"

A cold glint flashed in my eyes.

Julio's smile faltered, he glanced at my sister, then quickly grinned, "You're correct, we should thoroughly inspect to prevent internal conflict."

I remained on the ground, unresponsive.

As long as Julio recognized my worth, he wouldn't easily discard me.

But if he deemed me "worthless," I'd have to fend for myself.

Considering this, I looked at my sister playfully.

"Shouldn't you be tending to the wounded? How do you have time to chat here?"

My sister's eyes flashed with anger, but with Julio nearby, she dutifully went to care for the injured.

As she departed, my gaze grew colder.

In my previous life, after my sister awakened her ability, she promptly abandoned me.

So she was unaware.

Although the lightning ability required upgrading, it could truly become a formidable weapon against zombies later.

But the healing ability had a critical weakness.
