Chapter 8

The bitter memories made me clench my jaw in anger.

My sister ceased her resistance, her eyes glazed over in shock. "They're referring to me, aren't they?"

Her question snapped me back to reality.

I reminded myself that in this lifetime, I wouldn't have to endure those terrors again.

Glancing at my sister, I realized she'd face a horrific fate even if I didn't intervene.

"No matter how much you improve, that flawed ability will only heal you."

"Initially, they'll extract blood for tests. Later, you'll be forced to provide regular blood samples and undergo intense radiation experiments."

I spoke quietly, my words as ominous as a demon's.

With a wry smile, I added, "Eventually, you'll be nothing more than a blood source for the elite. Your blood can indeed prevent zombification, and they'll use it to create and sell purifiers."

Back then, I made public appearances covered head to toe to hide my scarred skin. They even applied cosmetics to mask my unnatural pallor.
