The Inn

Anon's fears proved to be in vain. Raikishi, to his surprise, did not pay attention to this rude wolf. He couldn't figure out what she was thinking and decided not to ask questions. Susu, having recovered from the incident, returned to Anon, and the three of them continued their search for the inn.

It would have been easy for Raikishi to find out the location of the hotel, but she decided to give Anon and Susu the opportunity to figure it out for themselves as a lesson and experience. She was only going to watch over them and help or give hints if there were difficulties.

It took some time for Anon and Susu to find an inn. Along the way, Susu tried to communicate with other beasts again, and eventually she managed to find out where the nearest inn was.

It was a small wooden inn with a sign that had its name written on it. The front door was illuminated by an ordinary old oil lamp. This was all new to Anon, and he was looking forward to experiencing it all.

Once inside, they noticed that the inns were mostly designed for people, not beasts. A middle-aged man was sitting at the reception desk, who seemed to be struggling with sleep, nodding off.

Noticing Anon and Susa, the man roused himself and shook off his drowsiness.

"Welcome," he greeted.

"..." Anon only nodded his head in response to the greeting. Then he looked at Raikishi to figure out how to proceed. But to his surprise, Raikishi was lying comfortably on his shoulder with her eyes closed, as if she were asleep, showing no interest in what was happening.

Susu kept her eyes on her ancestor.

"One room for one night, — Anon said, shaking his head and looking at the two foxes. One room was enough for the three of them. Susu didn't leave his side anyway, and for Raikishi, who could freely change her size, it wasn't a problem.

"Three bronze coins," the man said, not trying to start a conversation, as he realized that the client was not inclined to communicate.

Before leaving the city, Anon took the coins with him, as he knew that he would not be able to pay for other expenses outside the city without a smartphone. He paid for the room and, having received a rough key to it, headed for the stairs to go up to the second floor, where his rented room was located.

There were two types of currency in the Itia continent.

The first is a universal currency, represented by coins: bronze, silver and gold. One silver coin was worth 100 bronze coins, and a gold coin was worth 100 silver coins.

The second currency used in the sub—region of people is electronic. The denominations here are the same as for regular coins, but the money is stored in secure electronic accounts. This currency can be used everywhere in human's cities.

Other continents had their own currency for trade and exchange. These currencies were not recognized on the human continent, but if necessary, they could be exchanged for other resources when someone came to the human continent.

Special currency exchange shops have been opened in cities located closest to other continents. In these shops, humans and beast lords could directly buy the currency of other continents or sell resources for it.

Anon's parents had enough money, and Anon and his sisters always had everything they needed. But now that Anon has decided to leave his home and hide, he will have to think about how to make money. His supply of coins is not eternal.

Although the city could not boast the same level of comfort as the city of people, the hotel itself turned out to be pleasant. It was obvious that the builders were real professionals in their field. The room had everything you needed: one bed, a wardrobe, a bedside table, a small table and a chair. But the most amazing thing is the presence of a toilet and a bathroom! Anon did not expect that the city would have its own sewage system. It wasn't noticeable from the outside, but as it turned out, he greatly underestimated the city at first glance.

After checking the room, Anon placed his backpack with his belongings next to the bed and sat on it. Yes, the bed was rough and very different from the one he was used to. He was already starting to miss the soft bed he had left at home.

"Phew..." Anon exhaled heavily, accepting reality. He decided that from now on he needed to stop comparing everything with what he saw in the city of people. It's not a given that he will live in the city of beasts permanently.

Of course, it's easier to hide in the city of beasts, because there are no communications and technology there. However, if he had found a way to hide his true identity, he would have preferred to hide in the human city.

"Eat and wash up, and then go to bed. We will not linger in this city. Tomorrow morning, we will go to Region No. 03, to the beast sub-region. At my speed, with you in tow, it will take half a day," Raikishi commanded, opening her eyes and pretending that she had just woken up.

Anon wanted to ask a few questions that he had, but Raikishi categorically refused to answer. She said that he had learned too much today, and he needed to calm down and digest the information he had already received. Not to mention the fact that he dramatically changed his life after leaving his native home. He needs to come to his senses.

Seeing Raikishi's persistence, Anon had to give up. He pulled out the food he had brought with him from his backpack. Of course, there were no appliances in the room, and it was impossible to heat the food, as he thought. However, to his surprise, Raikishi used her power and warmed up the food in a matter of seconds. He didn't even have time to realize what she had done.

Anon almost dropped the food because it suddenly became hot. He quickly put it on the table and looked at Raikishi. Because she had shrunk, he instinctively forgot that this little fox was a rank 8 beast lord. From now on, he will have to start getting used to the various tricks that Raikishi can show him.

Anon deftly divided the food into three parts and generously shared it with Susu and Raikishi. At first, Raikishi looked at Anon with disdain, saying that she wasn't going to eat it. Being a Rank 8 beast mistress, she doesn't need daily nourishment. And if he decides to eat, then only the rarest and most delicious dishes. Compared to them, this food didn't seem worth paying attention to.

Seeing how Raikishi looked at his offer with disdain, Anon decided to give his share to Susu, who ate her portion with great pleasure. Looking at her descendant, Raikishi still decided to try the food offered. She quickly pulled her share away from Anon's hand, preventing it from being passed to Susu, and gracefully jumped down onto the table.

Anon was surprised, but he put the food in front of her anyway. Raikishi sniffed it first. The smell was pleasant, and her appetite was instantly whetted. She stuck out her tongue and licked her lips. It had been a long time since she had eaten food cooked by humans, and the bright colors of the dish with its many ingredients had amazed her taste buds. Her eyes lit up, and unable to restrain her desire, she began to devour the food greedily.

For Anon, watching her old monster eat was a real shock. The little graceful fox was eating even more greedily compared to Susu.
