Susu rushed at her ancestor in anger. At the moment of their collision, the two laws of the lightning elements led to terrible destruction.
Bera, who knew nothing about the laws, was almost helpless before the strange fluctuations and properties of the lightning coming from the two foxes. The pressure of those lightning bolts on her was unbearably heavy. The shock wave of the collision threw her to the side. She was severely injured, and her body was numb from the lightning bolt.
It was obvious that Raikishi wasn't putting much effort into trying to calm her descendant down. Susu, overcome with rage, did not listen to the arguments and explanations of her ancestor.
Despite this, the collision of two identical laws has had a catastrophic impact on the environment. All the plants and trees burned down, turning to dust from the high temperature of the lightning. All the small creatures and insects within a kilometer radius were destroyed as a result of this collision.
At the very beginning of the clash, Bera had nowhere to hide — everything around was destroyed. In addition, the properties of these lightning prevented her from using her own element, suppressing it. She wanted to cry.
It was only then that she remembered the human boy who was next to them, but they all ignored him.
Bera was alarmed, thinking that the boy might have been injured by the collision of two foxes and died. She looked around and saw him. To her surprise, he was alive. The boy was sitting with his face buried in the ground, and, holding his head, was in unbearable pain. But what really surprised Beru was that the lightning bolts released by the two foxes had no effect on his surroundings. There seemed to be a protective barrier around him within a two-meter radius that protected him from being struck by lightning.
Realizing this, Bera, without wasting a second, quickly appeared next to the boy and dived into his shadow, finding a safe place. It was only when she was in his shadow and freed from the pressure of the lightning that she breathed a sigh of relief.
At this time, Anon was experiencing unbearable pain in his eyes. He could hear the noise around him, but he didn't pay attention to it. He did not even notice how the Shadow Wolf, his abductor, hid in his shadow.
Anon didn't know how long this pain lasted. Just when he was about to give up, she suddenly disappeared. Surprised, he slowly opened his eyes, fearing that the pain would return. But to his surprise, nothing happened.
He saw that he was in a dark space. At first, he couldn't figure out where he was, but then he remembered that he had already been here on the day of the awakening ceremony. He was back in the space of his soul.
That was why the pain had disappeared: his consciousness had moved here, while his body was probably still suffering from it. The realization of this fact gave Anon goosebumps. He was on the verge of breaking down from this pain, and the thought that she would return when he left this place was not encouraging.
"Ho ho ho, we meet again, boy," a familiar voice rang out, and Anon instantly recognized it. This voice belonged to the spirit he had met the last time he was inside the space of his soul.
"Congratulations on your awakening!" the spirit said solemnly.
Anon still couldn't figure out where its owner was. He turned his head, trying to make out his presence, but saw nothing but pitch darkness.
"Huh, are you looking for me?" the spirit asked, and Anon nodded in confirmation.
"Have you forgotten what I told you? There are not many beings in the world who can invade the soul space of another person without consent and a contract. So don't come looking for me. I'm not here. Even if I wanted to, I couldn't enter here," the spirit explained.
"If what you're saying is true, then how can you talk to me? You also sound like you see me here," Anon asked.
"Of course, I see you, boy," the spirit replied. "As I said last time, you and I have a connection that allows me to watch you. This connection also gives me the opportunity to see and talk to you when your consciousness is inside the soul space.
"So you can only see and talk to me when my consciousness appears here?" Anon clarified, wanting to make sure his thoughts were correct.
"Yeah. The last time I was able to communicate with you before you woke up, it was only because your consciousness entered the soul space. In the outside world, I have no way to contact you until you awaken," the spirit confirmed.
After hearing the spirit's response, Anon fell into thought.
"Now that you've awakened, I can interact with you normally," the spirit sounded happy, as if he'd been waiting for this opportunity for a long time.
"Before you ask a question, let me explain something. First of all, you have truly awakened, and this is not the path of a Beast tamer and a Contractor. This is a completely different path that dominated this world in the past, but because of the disaster our world faced, it was cursed," the spirit began his explanation.
Upon hearing about the curse, Anon frowned.
"Cursed?" he asked.
"Yes, this path is cursed. And it's not what you think it is. This is something completely different," the spirit realized what Anon was thinking.
"The curse placed on this path is the result of all the trouble. This curse cut off the connection of the path of cultivation with this world, limited and complicated the process of cultivation. It makes it very difficult for people like you to cultivate. In their entire lives, people like you can't even reach the second rank," upon hearing the spirit's explanation, Anon's jaw dropped.
"What the hell! What is this damn cultivation path that is almost impossible to cultivate?" Anon swore.
He's finally awakened! The spirit and the Raikishi told him that he was destined for a completely different path of cultivation. But now that he's finally tried out, is this same spirit telling him that his cultivation is almost impossible? Were they kidding him?
"Hey, calm down! I didn't say it was impossible, I just said it would be difficult. Although the connection has been severed, there is a chance to find another way. It all depends on you and which "Rune" you have awakened," the spirit tried to calm him down.
"I want to discuss a lot of things with you, but before we get to that, I took a quick look at the outside and would like to share two pieces of news with you. One of them is good, and the other is bad. Which one do you want to hear first?"
"Huh?" wondered Anon. He wasn't aware of what was going on around him, and he was curious to find out what was going on.
"Let's start with the bad news," he decided, preferring to leave the good news for later.
"Well, how to say it. I do not know all the details of how you ended up in this place, and why two lightning foxes with the law are fighting next to you outside. The destruction they caused destroyed all life in the area at a distance of more than one kilometer. But that's not the bad news. There are many creatures above level 7 and rank 7 moving towards your location," the spirit blurted out.
Anon was horrified by these words. At first, he was surprised that two foxes were fighting each other, and thought of Raikishi and Susu. But then he dropped the idea. Susu hadn't even awakened yet, how could she stand up to her ancestor, a Rank 8 being? Moreover, Anon didn't know anything about the laws, and neither did Susu.
After hearing the second part of the news, he felt his heart sink.
"Are creatures above level 7 and rank moving here?" Anon couldn't help but ask to make sure he hadn't misheard.
"Yeah. And very quickly. They'll be here any minute," the spirit clarified.
"Damn it! Heck! Damn!" Anon swore in panic.
"Am I going to get caught? What should I do and how should I act?" — these questions tormented Anon, plunging him into the abyss of doubt and searching for a plan for further action. It was as if he had forgotten that his body was probably still in pain.
"What's the good news?"
"What is it?" he asked, hoping that this might be a solution to his problem.
"Your awakening has come to an end," they replied, but these words brought no comfort.
"To hell with everything!" Anon exclaimed angrily.
"Hey! Hey! Don't lose heart ahead of time. Try to concentrate, you should already feel it," the spirit advised.
Anon did not understand what the spirit meant. He decided to listen to his advice and closed his eyes and concentrated. Just like last time, he began to pay close attention to his surroundings, and at that moment he noticed an attraction from the outside. When he paid attention to it and concentrated on it, it suddenly disappeared and reappeared in another place.
In the darkness, not far from him, a sphere was spinning, shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow. Inside this sphere, a barely visible figure resembled the letter Z. Also, a thread stretched from the sphere and went somewhere into the void.
While Anon was admiring the sphere in his head, he heard the surprised voice of the spirit.
"What the hell! What is this?" The spirit was at a loss. What he saw in front of him was very different from what he knew.
"What is this multicolored sphere and what is this thread?" the spirit asked. Anon didn't understand what it was, so he didn't say anything.
At least the spirit recognized the shape inside the sphere, it was the so-called "Rune".
