chapter 4 Plan (2)

It was already the night of the ball, and Calista was in Emily's room, her room was opulent and luxurious, with grand furnishing and intricate details.

A large four poster bed with gold and purple embroidered bedding, draped with sumptuous fabrics was placed in the middle of the room.

Her wardrobe room was massive, the woodwork was intricate , her room had large windows with flowing purple curtains with a luxurious red carpet in her room.

To the right side of her room was a fireplace. Her table makeup was full of different products, all this actually made me wonder if I was really born into this family.

A lot of maids were busy attending to her. To the outside world, she was an elegant, well trained woman with a good temperament and demeanour, but everyone in the mansion knew she was the complete opposite.

She is brutal and her temperament is like a volcano ready to erupt at any time.

Calista!" Emily snapped, jerking Calista from her observations. "Stop standing there like a useless statue and bring me some snacks."

Calista has to be polite to her, because talking to her is like walking on thin ice.

Calista vividly remembered being thrown into the dungeon for three days at just twelve years old. Her offense? Bumping into Emily and causing her to bruise her delicate wrist. The punishment had been cruel, leaving her dehydrated and terrified. Calista had learned the hard way to tread carefully around her.

Calista brought the snacks to Emily , she placed them on the table close to her, but before Calista could walk away, the snacks were already thrown to the floor.

How dare you bring me these?" Emily screamed, glaring at Calista as though she'd committed a mortal sin.

Bewildered, Calista stepped back slightly. "You asked for snacks…" she stammered.

Emily's lip curled, disgust dripping from her tone. "Are you trying to ruin my figure? These are full of fat, you idiot! Are you intentionally sabotaging me?"

The ridiculousness of the accusation almost made Calista laugh, but she restrained herself. Instead, she bent down to pick up the scattered food, knowing what Emily expected without needing to be told. "I'll fetch some fruits," she said, her voice calm but hollow.

"Don't bother. Just get out. I can't stand looking at your face any longer," Emily sneered, turning back to her mirror as though dismissing a servant.

" Yes sister " Calista answered politely, after picking the snacks she went back to her room.

She looked at her room, which was painted in white with a medium size bed in the centre of the room dressed in white , a mirror and a brown makeup table to the left, a brown wardrobe at the right side of the room, and a door that led to the bathroom.

Her room could actually illustrate how her life is right now.

 " AAAARGH"

Calista suddenly screamed but a soft hand covered her mouth, which turned her scream into a muffled one.

" It's me Aurora," Aurora smiled shyly at her, " why are you in my room and how did you get here?" Calista asked, sounding slightly annoyed.

" Um, I paid your guards to let me in," she answered nonchalantly.

Calista closed her eyes, as she tried to calm down" what about if you had gotten caught by my parents?" She asked, as she hurriedly went to lock my door.

Her parents don't want to see her with Aurora , they have warned her several times.

" don't worry I won't, I came so we can execute the plan" Aurora replied, as she jumped on Calista's bed.

" But I sent you a letter about our plan and where we were supposed to meet," Calista refuted back, glaring at her, with her hands on her waist.

"I got it, but I thought it would be better if we sneak out together," she replied innocently, but her grin said otherwise.

Calista rubbed her temple, frustration building. Her friend's spontaneity had always been troublesome. "Fine. But listen to me this time, all of my instructions, or you'll get us both thrown into the dungeon."

"Agreed," Aurora said, though the mischievous twinkle in her eye suggested otherwise.

They waited until the household left for the ball. Then, with quick precision, they changed into their disguises. Aurora had brought two tailored suits, designed to make them pass as male guests. Calista buttoned her collar carefully, pulling a cloak over her frame to conceal her distinct fiery red hair. Aurora pulled her hair back and donned a hat, transforming seamlessly.

"Perfect," Aurora whispered, staring at their reflections in Calista's cracked mirror. "You could even pass as a handsome young lord."

Calista rolled her eyes. "Let's go before I regret this."

The pair slipped through the darkened halls, navigating their way past guards and servants with remarkable ease.

In a faraway land to the east, was the land Guldoria. A land where demons inhabit and other dangerous creatures live in . The atmosphere looked very grim and dark, and the silhouette of different kinds of creatures could be seen from afar. The sky was dark not giving it light but was soon brighten occasionally by the thunderous lightning, striking here and there. On the hill far to the northeast, was a castle, and around it were thick forests.

The castle stood elegant, but at the sight of it, it caused fear on the beholder. At the entrance of the castle was a black mighty gate, with demons guarding it, and above it were flying creatures (Griffin ). There was a long walkway from the entrance of the gate to the castle.

 " AAAAAAARGH"

A blood chilling scream could be heard from beneath the castle.

" Are you ready to spill it out now?" A melodic but powerful voice echoed in the air.

Just a few paces away, perched casually on a wooden chair, was a figure dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit. The polished leather shoes and crisp fabric seemed grotesquely out of place amid the gore.

His raven hair fell gracefully to his shoulders, the front portion parted to avoid obscuring the penetrating gaze of his dark brown- nearly black-eyes.

He looked like a nobleman attending a soirée, not a lord presiding over a torture chamber. Yet, the cruel smirk curving his lips revealed his true nature.
