Back at the estate…
Mia sat with Victor in the operations room, scanning through the files he had pulled together. It was overwhelming—documents, encrypted messages, financial records leading back to offshore accounts linked to Silas.
"He's been funding research facilities all over the world," Victor said. "And get this—one of them? It's in a hospital."
Mia's blood ran cold. "What kind of hospital?"
Victor clicked on a file, pulling up an image of a state-of-the-art medical facility. "A neonatal research center."
Mia's breath caught. "Oh my God… He's experimenting on babies?"
Victor's jaw clenched. "We don't have confirmation yet. But if Paragon is about genetic enhancement… it makes sense. They're not just modifying DNA—they're starting from birth."
Mia felt a wave of nausea, but not from pregnancy. "We have to stop him."
Victor nodded. "Alexander and the team are already en route. But Mia… this just got even more personal."
Mia looked at him, her heart pounding. "What do you mean?"
Victor hesitated, then turned the screen toward her. "I found something in Marco's files. A list of subjects marked for observation."
Mia's eyes scanned the document—and then she saw it.
Her name.
And below it, another.
Baby Castello.
Her hands flew to her stomach as the realization hit her. Silas had been watching her child before they were even born.
Terror surged through her veins, but it quickly hardened into resolve.
They weren't just fighting for themselves anymore.
They were fighting for their child.
And she would stop at nothing to protect them.
