Starting the Apocalypse (2)

Swoosh!

Shluck!

"AGHHHHHHH!"

Marin groaned in pain as Vincent barred his teeth into his neck.

"LET GO!!!"

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Marin swung at the back of Vincent's head to make him let go.

Vincent's bite lessened with each hit, but he was resilient, refusing to let go.

Thud!

With one final hit, Vincent let go.

Blood rolled down Marin's neck.

"Kekeke..." Vincent leaned back on his chair, laughing at Marin mockingly, showing his red-painted teeth, now with Marin's blood.

"Bastard!" Marin roared, holding the side of his neck.

The wound was deep, and the piece of flesh barely hung. Had Vincent pulled with his teeth, he would have ripped out the flesh.

"Kekeke..." Vincent continued laughing, staring at the wounded Marin with satisfaction. Zombie virus? Zombie apocalypse? He didn't understand anything, nor did he care at the moment.

At the moment, he only cared about inflicting pain on Marin. If spreading the virus would cause Marin to feel the same pain he felt a moment ago, then there was nothing he could want more.

"I'll kill you!" Marin roared as he jumped at Vincent with the intent to kill him.

Badum!

Several inches from Vincent, Marin halted.

He felt a sharp pain in his chest.

"Vincent!" Finn shouted. How could you do that? In times like this, he is offering you a chance to live. And instead of accepting, you attack him? But look at him. Even after what you did, sir Marin is still showing mercy."

Finn didn't let go of this chance to lick up to Marin, but unbeknownst to him, the situation was entirely different.

'I-I can't move,' Marin's heart trembled in fear. His body had gone numb and he couldn't move even an inch.

An inexplicable terror took over him.

Unbeknown to him or Finn, the bleeding from the wound on the neck considerably slowed down, and the veins around bulged up and turned purple. The virus entered the blood flow and quickly spread.

"Aggggg!" Marin groaned in pain.

As the virus continued spreading, the pain intensified.

"Sir, what's the problem?" Finn looked at Marin in shock and surprise, but also fear at the unknown situation.

Bom!

The door flew open, and the other two henchmen, Dorvin and Hossik came running in.

"Boss, what happened?" Hossik asked.

Thud!

Marin collapsed on the ground.

"Boss, are you alright?" Dorvin came with another question.

Both hurried to Marin, examining him.

Marin's body started trembling uncontrollably, and his mouth began foaming. Painfully, he lifted his arm off the ground and pointed his index finger at Vincent.

"Who did this?!" Dorvin, the bulky one, roared. Of course, they couldn't miss the wound on his neck.

"He did it." Finn pointed at Vincent instantly, without a sherd of hesitations. "He bit him,"

"Hahaha...bastards! You got what you deserve," Vincent spoke, his voice full of pleasure. He didn't care anymore if they killed him. He accomplished his goal.

"I'll kill you!" Dorvin jumped at Vincent.

Thud!

Puff!

As the heavy punch landed, Vincent spew a mouthful of blood.

Thud! Thud! Tud!

Dorvin continuously punched Vincent.

With each punch he delivered, Vincent's struggles dimmed.

Thud! Thud!

With hatred filling his eyes, Dorvin punched Vincent until he no longer moved. The bones in his nose were completely shattered. It was not crooked, just a bloody mess, torn and flattened to the face.

The teeth on his upper jaw were shattered.

Gluhh-hhhhrk!!

Marin let out a strange sound as his body trembling intensified. His muscles contracted, making him jump slightly off the ground and fall back as the muscles eased.

Dorvin stopped beating Vincent and looked at Marin with worry.

Wounds had opened on the skin covering Dorvin's knuckles.

The blood from beating Vincent covered his fists.

Ghaak-ghaak!

Marin continued letting out strange noises as his throat contracted and started filling with blood.

Blood splashed from his mouth as his body desperately tried to expel the blood out of his throat to breathe again but in vain.

It suddenly turned into a gruesome scene straight out of a horror movie.

In the dark room, Vincent sat on the chair, motionless, his arms hanging to the sides. His nose smashed and ruptured open, along with the rest of his face, deformed, covered in blood.

Marin's body jumping and slamming on the ground, along with the noise he let out and the blood splashing out of his mouth, only added to the gruesomeness of the scene.

Finn trembled uncontrollably in fear, cursing Vincent in his heart and wishing for his death. What if they blamed him for what happened?

As for Marin's two henchmen, they stared at their boss helplessly and with worry.

Marin's behavior continued for a few dozen seconds. In just that short time, the blood coming out of his mouth was enough to cover the ground around him.

All the veins on his body had bulged up and turned purple while the rest of his body became pale, going more towards grey.

Yet despite all this, Marin was still conscious.

His pupils trembled uncontrollably. He felt the immense pain Vincent felt before.

The virus had spread throughout his whole body and infected his blood, reaching the brain.

When the virus infected the entirety of the brain, it marked Marin's end.

His pupils rolled back, and his eyes whited out. His body stopped trembling and slamming off the ground, and the blood stopped splashing out of his mouth. Instead, his body stiffened, and he remained with his white, pupilless eyes wide open.

"Boss." Seeing no movement, Hossik crouched down to Marin. He tried shaking him to evoke a reaction, but terror struck him as he tried.

Marin's whole body was stiff as if it was stone.

With a trembling hand, he placed his middle and index finger on Marin's neck, checking for a pulse.

"Agh!"

Hassik screamed in terror as he fell back to the ground.

With his hand still trembling, he looked at Dorvin. "T-The b-boss, h-he is...dead."

Dorvin's expression turned grim, and his hands started trembling. "Impossible," he shook his head in disbelief. "Boss!"

Dorvin jumped at Marin, but as soon as he touched him, the stiff body confirmed the terrifying truth. An incomparable sense of fear shrouded his heart.

No, this was not their first time seeing a corpse. They had seen so many corpses and killed so much that this didn't even bother them.

What terrified them was who the corpse was. Marin was dead. Without him, they were left alone.

They both decided to stick close to him after seeing his ability. They believed that with him, their chances of survival in this new, chaotic world would increase. With him, they had a chance to defeat the monsters. But now, he was dead.

Unbeknown to them, the veins on Dorvin's hands bulged up and started turning purple.

His attention was focused on the dead Marin, so he didn't notice. As for the tingling sensation, he attributed it to the small injury on his skin.

No one could expect that just because he came in contact with Vincent's blood, he would get infected. They didn't even know what was going on. The cause of Marin's death and what Vincent even did.

"B-Boss..." Dorvin grabbed Marin's shoulders and shook him. "You can't do this to us. What are we supposed to do without yo..."

His eyes widened in terror, and he stopped his sentence.

As he placed his hands on Marin's shoulder, they came into his eyes. He noticed the purple veins.

"No..." He broke in a cold sweat, shaking his head in terror and disbelief.

Dorvin took a better look at Marin. "NO!!" He screamed, quickly backing away from Marin.

Seeing the purple veins on him made his heart jump out of his chest in terror.

His heartbeat intensified in fear. He could feel the looming death getting closer.

"What happened?" Hossik asked. He quickly stood up and walked closer to the other man, but as he saw his hands, he froze. "No...It's happening to you too." He stepped back from him in fear. "It's all this bastard's fault." He glared at Vincent but didn't dare approach.

"BASTARD!" Dorvin jumped on his feet and at Vincent.

Thud! Thud!

He threw his fists, cleanly landing on his face.

But with each swing, he started feeling an intensifying pain spreading through his arms.

As he moved, the speed of infection intensified.

"No..." Hossik stared at Finn, his eyes wide open in terror. "Y-You..." He pointed his index finger at him.

"W-What is..." Just as Finn was about to ask, his eyes widened in terror, and pointed at Hossik as well.

"It's happening to you..." They spoke simultaneously.

The veins on their faces had started turning purple.

"NO!" Finn shouted in terror. He didn't even bother to look for the cause of this. "I-I don't want to die!!"

Swoosh!

He stormed out of the room, outside in the pitch dark night.

"Save me! Someone save me! I don't want to die!!" Finn roared in the middle of the night, amongst the ruins, disregarding if he might attract the monsters.

However, the quicker he moved, the quicker the virus spread. Only bringing the inevitable closer.

...

Hossik remained in the room.

"Bastard!" He shouted, his voice breaking in fear. He didn't want this to be his end.

Thud! Thud!

Dorvin hit Vincent while roaring. "Bastard! What did you do? Tell me how to reverse it quickly."

But to no avail. Vincent was long unconscious, If not dead.

With each swing, he got slower until he couldn't move his body and collapsed.

The same symptoms as Marin's appeared, and he started trembling and shaking, his muscles contracting and spewing blood. Not long after, his body turned pale, and he died.

Hossik watched all this in terror.

He lost hope already and collapsed to his knees.

"Curse you! BASTARD!" He roared. "You can all go FU.CK YOURSELVES! What did I do to deserve this? I only followed orders obediently and still am meeting my end here.

GOD! Do you exist!! Why did this happen? Why did the towers fall?! Are you watching this in satisfaction? Are you happy for my suffering!! You can go FU.CK YOURSELF TOO! SHITTY GOD!!"

Hossik had the opportunity to went off all his anger. For some reason, the virus spread the slowest for him. So he watched Dorvin die before the symptoms appeared in him.

It didn't take long, and he lost his life to the virus.

They all died in pure agony.
