Entering the guild it was a strange feeling he never really took quests after dusk or in the evening so now being in the guild at this time feels strange to him.

(Do you think we can get a quest like the rat quest again?) Kuma question snapped Alex out of his thoughts.

(Don't know buddy but chances are low to get such a quest.) Alex who answered still felt a bit off.

He has no idea how much money he will need and how much quest he will need to do, sure he knows that for good tent he needs 1 silver but that's just a tent he still needs a sleeping bag and rations.

Alex was hoping that sleeping bags are not expensive because he forget to look at the price so he might just end up with a crappy sleeping bag but if he does he could easily buy a new one at the different town.

Sure he could buy a crappy tent but he wants to have atleast something that he won't have to change when getting to a bigger town.

Looking at the quests in the board there where no quests like the rat one so he choose one where he has to kill 10 wolves.

It had pretty good pay but it has much more monsters to kill in return.

Well better get used to it was Alex's thought process as he has seen higher rank quest where you have to kill 50 or more but that's at C rank and it might take a while for Alex to get there.

So grabbing the quest and letting the guild know about it he sets out.

After he left the city he starts walking in the forest and realized how unnerving it actually is to walk in the forest in the evening the sun slowly going down making it darker every second.

Hearing some monsters in the distance Alex's flinches a bit its easy to see he is on edge.

(Alright it's getting annoying why are you so on edge?) Kuma asked him but not in a annoyed tone even though the sentence seems like he is annoyed.

(I dont know its unnerving to walk in a forest when its getting dark.) Alex himself does not know why as far as he knows darkness is not a problem.

Its also not that he is going to fight wolves he knows that he finds one he finds a pack unless its looking for a new pack or wanting to make one.

So tracking through the woods a bit more he feels fine so it might just be something about that place that made Alex uncomfortable.

After a little more minutes of walking its almost completely dark but Alex and Kuma found the wolves or better said the wolves found them.

Alex only looks at the rank the name he already knows he could care less about it.

The wolves surround him and Kuma quickly jumps off Alex's shoulder knowing they are going to fight.

A wolf jumps at Alex who quickly moved out the way but see i different wolf already jumping at him so he quickly makes a barrier.

But a new wolf jumped at him and Alex makes a horizontal swing with the axe and it hits the wolf making a big gash on the wolf side and is send tumbling out the air towards 2 other wolves who move out the way so they dont get hit by their pack mate.

Kuma quickly send a earth claw at a wolf that was sneaking behind Alex the earth claw hits the wolf face blinding it and Alex makes a barrier infront of him and turns around to kill the wolf Kuma blinned.

Wolves who now see Kuma as a threat and a few wolves now jump towards Kuma who ducks under them and used his claws and plans to hit the wolf's stomach but the wolf was faster than Kuma thought so his claws end up piercing the wolf's balls.

The wolf who bassicly got neutered let's out a painful howl and lays on the ground in pain before Kuma sends a earth claw at the wolf putting it out its misery.

Alex and Kuma have good team work not only thanks to the fact that Kuma is mentally connected to Alex put also because Kuma can duck under the wolves and kill them and Alex can make barriers to stop wolves from just biting a piece out of him.

With this teamwork killing wolves is a piece of cake so after a few more minutes of fighting the last wolf goes down and Kuma had not accidentally neutered another wolf he has neutered one on purpose but no accidentally neutered wolves besides the first one he killed.

Now they had to bring the wolves tails back to the guild to prove they actually killed them so while Kuma used his claws Alex grabbed his knife which has only been used to get monster parts, and Alex hopes to keep it that way he definitely won't be cooking food with it.

So after collecting the tails and walking back the way they came it gets fully dark before they get back which puts Alex on high alert and puts his trust in Kuma's night vision which Kuma says is excellent put still having nothing to compare it to makes it easy to say its good if you don't know the average.

While walking back it was suprisingly serine in the forest until (get down now!) Alex did just that wondering what is wrong only to see a shadow move over him and missing him.

But Kuma did not miss when he send a earth claw at the shadow which seems the hit the Shadows wing.

F+ rank shadow bat.

For once the system showed him something he did not know and whas suprised until he remembered that bats don't come out during the day.

But the bay with its wing destroyed can't really fly so another earth claw killed it turns out bats are pretty weak if they can't fly.

So taking the bat corpse with him to sell Alex got to the city without a problem and after showing a guard who was on high alert his card that he was a adventurer he could enter the city.

Entering the guild he sold the bat corpse which gave suprisingly much 50 copper turns out that with a range skill and night vision they are very hard to kill even if they are just F+ rank its just if the bats had magic they would rank higher but they don't.

The quest itself gave 40 copper so in total he got 90 copper from a quest in the evening his complete total is 130 copper which means he bassicly has 1 silver and 30 copper so with that he goes to the inn and goes to sleep after a half hour of meditation.

After waking up the next day at 7 am Kuma has quickly got used to waking up early so they made their way to the camping store.

Entering the store he finds a good tent for 1 silver and a decent sleeping bag for 20 copper and he actually got a nice big back bag that the owner of the store gave him after seeing that Alex had no back bag.

After that he goes to the bakery and gets some rations for 5 copper suprisingly cheap is what Alex thought was but he was not complaining.

So after getting everything he has he puts it in the back bag that came with the tent so he just has 5 copper and a back bag was everything he has.

So looking at the map he has he decides to go to the port city called Sea City after Alex saw the name the city was called he decided that the original city owner must have been lazy when he had to pick a name.

But he did notice Sea City was bigger than the town he was in that was called Starfall Town and that was a pretty good name in Alex's opinion.

Kuma did not really care about city or town names he just want to see more places and get stronger which is the same thing Alex wants.

So looking at the map he sees that Sea City is north from where he is now and more up north there is a place called The Mammoths Fall.

And if he wants south there was a desert and with a couple small towns and one big city called Black Sand city.

And he could keep looking at the map he could go on about interesting places in this world but he found out he was in a country called Ocria.

But he did not want to stay looking at the map all day so with that he goes to the north gate and leaves for Sea City and Alex does not know how long it takes but he hopes its less the 3 days.

And with that he goes on his way and to keep himself busy he decides to have a conversation with Kuma looking for a few interesting topics to talk about.
