Just before dawn, the darkest hour, Fujiwara Reya woke up from the bed.
Through the gap in the curtains, the Sky Tree faintly emitted a brilliant glow. It was unclear if it was still raining. Beside him came the warm, fuzzy sensation of a little spider. Turning his head, he could see her sleeping silhouette.
His head still felt a bit heavy.
It was like someone was drilling a hole in his skull and stuffing something long inside, continuously pushing it in. He waved his hand, trying to brush away the invisible rope, but to no avail. The sensation persisted.
Fujiwara Reya sat up, rubbing both sides of his head with his palms.
No holes, nothing drilling in.
He glanced at the alarm clock on the bedside table, which showed 5:15 a.m.
"Ah~"
Fujiwara Reya yawned, forcing himself awake.
He got out of bed, about to wash his face and brush his teeth, when he stepped on something round and soft.
It was Kawashima Miki.
The step woke her up.
