CP : 4 - Mystery of Liameh

"Young Master Jian, the Feng Region is a lawless place. It is a gathering hub for many vile cultivators. May I know why you have chosen to go there?"

Long was approaching the situation rationally, curious about my reasoning. My reason was precisely because it was lawless. There was no oversight. Unless there was a significant rumor, the city remained quiet.

I swiftly tossed the masks on my bed toward them. Long and Zhou caught them in midair.

"Put on the masks! You will learn the answer soon."

[Congratulations! The host's created 'mask' has been used for the first time! As a reward, you have obtained 10 Great Master Monster Cores.]

[Aura Suppression]

[Allows the user to appear much stronger than they actually are!]

[Communication 1]

[No matter where you are, the Mask Master can communicate with you.]

[Communication 2]

[As long as the user is in the same environment as other Mask Users, they can communicate through the mask.]

[Communication 3]

[The Mask Master sees what the user sees, hears what the user hears.]

[Hunter's Eye]

[A simplified version of the Profile feature. The user can see entities stronger than themselves highlighted in red.]

[Light Camouflage]

[The user remains undetected by monsters!]

These were the features included in all three special masks I had created. For now, these were the only abilities I could add. In the future, I needed to unlock more features and strengthen the masks. Of course, this was only applicable to customized masks. Pre-made templates simply required specific materials.

"Young Master Jian, these masks..." Before Zhou could finish his sentence, I interrupted.

"From now on, there is no need to address me as 'Young Master.' Also, these masks hold special status. They can enhance your cultivation level, assist you in cultivation, and grant you various abilities." After saying this, I put on my own mask.

"Zhou, there is no need to hesitate. If you want to survive in the Feng Region, you will need that mask."

Without further hesitation, Zhou also put on his mask. At that moment, my voice resonated in their minds. I had used telepathy.

"In the future, I will speak to you using this method!"

Though I could not tell if they were surprised, my instincts told me that I had left an impression on them. At that moment, Long and Zhou took the initiative and knelt before me. The kneeling tradition felt quite foreign to me.

"Will you bow before me for everything you witness? In the future, you will lead many under my name, yet you are already so easily shaken by such trivial matters!" I transmitted these words telepathically.

This world was like this. Everyone feared the strong. No one could predict from which power death would strike. Some were killed simply for amusement, others had their power drained… For the weak, there were a thousand different ways to die.

Possessing power, however, corrupted many. Unfortunately, there was no regulating mechanism. Though the Emperor tried to protect his people with the Imperial Guards, hunters emerged not all the time, but in an instant.

"Anyway, I will go ahead first. I will meet you later in the Feng Region. Make sure you do not draw attention." Without saying anything further, I set off.

The journey from this town to the Feng Region took three days. This town was close to the Liameh Forest and was not a suitable place to live. It was a frequent haunt of Celestial Beasts. Celestial Beasts held a unique status.

The longer they lived, the stronger they became. The more they killed, the more powerful they grew. However, the entire lineage of a powerful beast carried its potential and strength.

Aside from Celestial Beasts, there were also Demonic Beasts. The key difference between them was consciousness. When a Celestial Beast became aberrant, it led to Corruption and Chaos.

"Liameh..." I had finally reached the entrance of the forest. The journey on foot had been difficult enough. Moreover, despite bringing a map, I had some trouble finding my way. The provisions I had brought were nearly depleted.

However, as I ventured deeper into the forest, I sensed something unusual. The forest was more crowded and noisier than usual. Among the trees, I could see the corpses of both humans and some beasts.

I had just arrived at the entrance, yet I had already encountered four different groups of people. Every gaze around me was wary. There was no need to even mention the slain beasts—their numbers were both high and all were dead.

I needed to find a more secluded route. I still had no idea why this place was so crowded.

"Hello, sir!" A quiet voice came from behind me. There was a slight nervousness in his tone. I turned my face slightly. He was wearing a blue robe. His eyebrows were notably thick.
