Mental Resolve Crumbles in the Face of Temptation

Third POV—

Sharon's body was getting hotter with each second. It was as if she was burning on a stove. Of all times, she never expected to experience heat right after she read the book. Her arms and legs were aching.

Kaerin knew what was happening with Sharon. She was in heat.

Kaerin was going crazy from all the smell Sharon was emitting. Being a demi-human was already making her very difficult to resist.

Sharon scratched her neck and looked Kaerin. She had no time to call anyone to help her. She couldn't trust anyone not to take any advantage of her. As the saying goes, 'Temptation can even corrupt the greater of human beings.' Even monks were not spared from it.'

With some difficulty, Sharon requested, "K-Kaerin... please take me to... my room."

Sharon was breathing heavily. She could feel her lower part of her body was tingling as if it wants something.

Kaerin swallowed heavily. She looked at Sharon incredulously. Did she even know whom she was requesting? She was the one who was most affected by her scent. A mixture of milk and strawberries was all she could smell. It was tempting her to bite her. For her safety, she wanted to deny her. But she couldn't entrust Sharon to anyone. What if someone took advantage of her? With her being unable to defend... anything could happen.

Sharon shook the hem of Kaerin's shirt. "Please... Kaerin," she requested once again. Every passing second was a nightmare for her. OG's heats had very less intensity than her. Why was her heat so intense? Is it because she wasn't the original?

"Don't say me anything... if something happens," Kaerin gritted out. She lifted up Sharon in a bridal style and quickly rushed towards her private chambers. Sharon wrapped her arms around Kaerin's neck and pushed herself closer to her.

It was a big blow to Kaerin's resolve. Composing herself again, she firmly held Sharon, in fear of dropping her.

Averting any prying eyes, Kaerin reached Sharon's room. Just as she was about to drop her in her bed, Sharon didn't let go.

Kaerin's mental barrier was slowly breaking. Lowering her voice, she asked, "Why are you not letting me go? Darling... we are in your room."

Sharon increased her hold's pressure. Just as she hugged Kaerin, she felt some heat dissipating from her body. It was like Kaerin her own personal AC. "Can y-you be... with me? I know that I am asking much but you are not affected from me, right?" She knew she was pushing her buttons but Kaerin hadn't shown any kind of reaction. Maybe she wasn't one of those special beings. Then, she could help her. Lying down with her wouldn't pose any problem.

'Wait... this plan is k-kind of weird.'

[Host, I have heard you humans say a phrase— 'Taking an axe and hitting it on your own feet.' Your words...]

'What about my words? And can't you do anything to soothe my heat?'

[No, I can't. Also, bye. I hope we meet again... after she finishes with you. One thing— please remember to take a contraceptive pill after this.]

'Contraceptive pill?' Irritation shot through her entire body. Sharon expected the system to help her. Instead, it even made her more frustrated.

'Answer me!' asked Sharon.

[Sorry for the inconvenience. The system is currently out of service. Please contact it later. Thank you.]

What was with this weird announcement? She wasn't dialling anyone. And even if she did, the person she would have called to will receive her call.

'System!'

But it didn't answer Sharon. All of a sudden, Kaerin threw her on the bed. She bounced slightly on the bed due to that impact. Just as she was about to sit up, she found herself pressed down by Kaerin. Her face was very close to Sharon. A shiver ran down her spine when she looked in her eyes.

Kaerin's eyes held a predatory glint in them. Unaffected? She thought that? It was all because she was controlling herself but now... those words broke the last barrier in her mind. She scoffed at Sharon. If she wanted to lie beside her then she would but... after she was finished with her.

Sharon wanted to push her away but she couldn't. It was like all her strength left her body. At that very moment, her shirt was ripped away from her body, leaving her upper part exposed.
