Chapter 9

Harvey furrowed his brow, an unexpected flicker of hesitation crossing his face.

Lydia approached with tear-filled eyes, her voice choked with sobs:

"Miss Isabella, please don't blame me."

"I truly don't want you and Blaine to fight because of me."

"I'll book a flight right away and leave immediately."

She turned to go as soon as she finished speaking.

However, Harvey reached out and grabbed her arm.

He stepped in front of me once more, no longer hesitating.

He leaned down, staring intently at me: "Isabella, if you're afraid of blood, just close your eyes."

"This operation will only take me ten minutes."

The surgical light shone directly on Harvey's face.

He stood before me, half his face shrouded in darkness, appearing particularly ominous.

Under Lydia's influence, he was like a machine.

Holding the scalpel, he methodically cut open my belly.

I felt warm liquid splash onto my arm.

Strange.

I didn't feel any pain.
