Queen's test for yuan

When Yuan entered the palace, he was greeted by a multitude of people dressed in various styles of clothing, all carrying different types of weapons, giving off a distinct ancient kingdom vibe.

In contrast to Yuan's curious gaze, everyone else stared at him as if he were an alien. Even the elderly woman in the palace was looking at him, and Yuan was taken aback by their intense scrutiny.

Unsure of the reason behind their stares, he chose to ignore them and continued onward with Xuner. They soon arrived at an empty hall in the palace.

Xuner spoke up, "This is the meeting room of the palace. The queen met someone here earlier and asked me to meet you in this room. Should I stay, or will you talk to the queen alone?"

Yuan replied, "No, you can go. I'll speak with her alone. Anyway, she won't bite me, and I'll tell you everything that happens." Having entered this new world, Yuan felt it was time for him to act independently; he couldn't keep living in the shadow of his family.

Understanding his feelings, Xuner decided to leave him to it. She had come to the palace for her own reasons and had other work to do.

After Xuner left, Yuan examined the meeting hall, noticing various pictures decorating the walls—some depicting birds and others portraying old kings. A large table occupied the center of the space, surrounded by chairs, while a high, intricately decorated chair likely belonged to the queen.

Just as Yuan was taking everything in, the door on the opposite side of the room swung open. Two soldiers stepped in first, followed by the queen. Her aura and demeanor radiated the sophistication of a noble. Although there was Noble Xuner, the queen's presence felt more maternal—at least to Yuan.

The queen appeared to be between 30 and 35 years old, but she exuded the appearance of a woman in her 20s. Having ascended the throne at a young age, she had not yet married, leaving her little time for love or romance.

Upon seeing her, Yuan bowed and waited for her to speak, as was customary when addressing royalty.

"You may rise," the queen said. "I summoned you for a special task, and I believe you're the right person for it." With that, she gestured to the soldiers, who promptly exited the room, locking the door behind them.

Yuan inquired, "What is this task? Can you tell me more?"

The queen stepped closer to him and said, "You have kept many secrets. I never anticipated that I would encounter you in such good form. Xuner never mentioned that her son was so well-mannered and charming," as she gently ran her fingers through Yuan's hair.

She continued, "I want you to enroll in the National Martial Academy, as I mentioned before. Have you given it any thought?"

Although Yuan hadn't considered it until now, he replied, "Well, I don't want to go there right now, but if you say so, I will go wherever you wish." Feeling the queen's flirtation, he leaned in closer, bringing their faces nearly together.

The queen was surprised by Yuan's boldness; no one had ever dared to come so close. Although she didn't react with anger, she retreated and seated herself in the chair.

"I understand that you're hesitant about joining the academy," she said, "but I have heard rumors that there are traitors within its walls. I need you to attend as a representative of the royal family and uncover those traitors." Her tone conveyed a sense of command.

Yuan now took her words seriously. After contemplating for a moment, he said, "I will go, but I can't guarantee that I will find them." After all, if he was part of this country, he had a vested interest in identifying the traitors within it.

"By the way, when do I have to leave, and will anyone accompany me?" he asked.

The queen answered, "You'll go alone. This will also serve as a test to see how well you can manage this task." While she had some trust in Yuan, she chose to frame it as a test rather than revealing her full confidence.

Yuan stood up and leaned in closer to the queen once more, bringing his face near hers. "If I pass this test, what will I earn? Every test has consequences, right?" he asked with a mysterious smile.

The queen responded with a playful smile, "That depends on what you achieve. You may receive something special." She twirled a strand of her hair with her fingers as she spoke.

"Alright then, I will leave for the academy today, and I will be anticipating something special in return," Yuan said, before exiting the room.

Once he was gone, the queen looked after him and remarked softly, "This boy is intriguing; I should probably keep him close."

Just then, she recalled that she had forgotten to inform him about his enemies within the academy. Giving herself a light slap, she muttered, "Oh well, he'll manage."

As the queen contemplated her feelings for Yuan, someone entered her room and asked in a deep voice, "Do you have feelings for that boy?"

The queen turned around to face a striking beauty with golden hair and deep blue eyes. Her sun-kissed skin contrasted beautifully with her long, elven ears, and she had a curvaceous figure.

The queen responded mysteriously, "Who knows? Anything can happen, and the future is uncertain. We can't stay here forever; you understand that, right, big sis?"

The woman gazed at her for a long moment before replying, "I know we can't remain here. We have to think about the future, but we still have time. I believe we should leave this country for Xuner."

The queen shook her head. "No, she will never accept the throne. You know she only took the duke's position for her son. If it weren't for my debt, she wouldn't entertain my request, and I can't force her in this lower world. She has many secrets—perhaps even more than we do."

Once again, the queen shook her head and said, "Sis, I have to go; I have work to do. You can stay and think all day if you like." With that, she walked out of the room.
