Evidently, this answer wasn't satisfactory to Asher. He approached me step by step, his face cold as ice.

"Mr. Stratton!" I was so scared I felt my soul might leave my body, but I still gathered the courage to call out to him, "Would you like to join us?"

Miss Belmont looked at me with utter confusion written all over her face.

Not just her, but all the other colleagues present were equally perplexed.

No one had ever heard of inviting the big boss to a department team-building event.

"Mr. Stratton, would you like to?"

Actually, I was hoping Asher would back off, thinking if he didn't want to participate, he'd quickly leave my sight.

I was also betting that he wouldn't stay at all.

I knew Asher's temperament well enough; he never liked attending events with large crowds.
