Chapter 7

In the afternoon, we had agreed to talk, but in the evening, she came to this kind of bar with Vivienne.

She came anyway, and not letting her come would be pure tyranny!

I walked briskly out of the bar, taking a long, deep breath. The atmosphere inside had been quite stifling, almost suffocating me.

The main reason was Asher's presence.

Asher quickly followed me out. We stood under a banyan tree outside the bar, facing each other.

"Did you forget what day it is today?" Asher asked first.

I frowned, "Cora's birthday is in winter. What could today possibly be?"

Asher's face, which had just relaxed a bit, suddenly darkened again. He grabbed my hand and shoved me into the car.

It was maddening. I didn't know which of my words had offended him again.

"You just left like that, and your pure love, first love Vivienne is still inside!"

I sat in his passenger seat, inwardly mocking him with a bitter heart.

Asher ignored me and simply floored the gas pedal, driving us away.
