VIP Leo

Standing with his hands akimbo was Jade, sratching his red hair and shooting dagger stares at Leo. His rage was visible.

"Errr, hi. Wh...what are you doing in my...room?" Leo suddenly became jittery.

The question shook Jade to the gut. He let out a howling laugh and said, "what?! Your room?!"

"Yes, this is my room. Mr Al assigned this section to me," Leo explained with his head still bowed.

"That gotta be a mistake, chicken. Let me see your key."

Leo brought out the blue VIP card from his pocket and flashed it before Jade's eyes. Jade suddenly grew restless after confirming that Leo didn't make a mistake.

"No, this cannot be right. I was supposed to be paired with...with... Okay pause, first of all, what is your last name?"

"Rayden," Leo replied silently.

"Is that your family name or some last name you coined yourself?"

"I don't understand what you mean," Leo pretended, even when he knew what Jade was asking.

"To what family so you belong, you dumbass?" Jade almost yelled.

"Well, I don't know. What about you?"

"Don't ask me questions, chicken. How can you not know your family and still manage to get a room as a VIP?" Jade stopped fuming and started walking slowly and menacingly at Leo, snapping his fingers and creating black smoke from his fingers. "I already asked before, and I won't ask again... What is your quirk?"

Leo backed away a few steps but Jade won't stop coming. His back was now against the nearest wall, so there was no way he could go back any further. "Please stop this," Leo pleaded but his voice didn't sound like one pleading.

"What is your quirk? Show me. Show me now!"

Leo could see that Jade has already started building energy in his right hand, waiting to be unleashed at him. Seeing that there's no way he'll be able to dodge the attack, Leo searched his pocket for something.

That was when the door burst open.

"Hey, Jade. What's on the pop?" A rather happy voice followed the entrance, and a boy with silver hair, deep blue eyes and an innocent face, jumped into the room with a wide smile.

Jade recoiled. He turned away from Leo's figure pressed against the wall. "Nothing much, Silver. Just a tiny chicken ruining my first day since I got back on earth."

Silver walked to Jade and saw Leo breathing heavily at a corner. "What is he doing here, Jade?"

"I really don't know, Sil. I have to talk to the teachers, there must have been a mistake. Can you imagine me spending years with this Quirkless fool in the same room?"

Silver's gaze lingered on Leo while he asked Jade, "what family does he belong to?"

"It's probably an F-rank family. See Sil, this guy does not even have a quirk."

"And have I seen him before?" Sil was asking no one in particular.

"Yes, he's the one with that Loca fool from the academy at Luxus. He probably got this room because of that fool's influence." Jade replied bitterly.

All the while, Leo just watched them speak about him like he wasn't even there. First day back on Earth and he is already sick of this world. He wondered how he was going to survive all these. Maybe he should speak to the teachers also. He needs to change his room before this Jade guy roasts him in his sleep.

"Well, let's leave this crackhead for now. We'll solve his issue later." Sil restored calm. "See, I knew you'd get room 1. You always get that position, haha. I got the second room and I'm paired with a boy from the Alcaraz family."

"Guess my family is just that powerful," Jade laughed back as they went to the large centre table to discuss.

"I wish mine's as powerful. We have always lived in your family's shadow. It's boring being the second every time." Sil pouted.

"Well, you can persuade your family head to drop to the third rank since second is boring," Jade laughed maniacally at his own joke. Sil joined too and they laughed so hard that Leo started getting annoyed on his own. He couldn't even get why that stupid joke was so funny to them.

"No, don't sit yet. I have something to show you. We have found a perfect target practice."

Jade jumped up at once, his eyes wide with delight. "Where? Take me to him, let me introduce myself properly." He pronounced the word 'properly' with every bit of sarcasm he could muster.

"His room is on the second floor. Let's hurry before the evaluation test starts," Sil said.

"Yes, let's go."

Together, they jumped out of their seats and out the room, banging the door in their wake.

Leo started breathing normally again. He knew what the two of them meant by "a perfect target practice" and he hates do admit that he could become their target practice too. He felt pity for the boy they are about to meet, but there was nothing he could do now. He might actually need more saving than the boy.

He walked the length of the large living room, admiring it once again till he got to two separate doors by his right. He easily recognized the door of the room that belonged to Jade by a poster on the door that showed a man suited in red and black, and intense fire burning all around his body. That must be Jade's role model, he thought.

So, he opened the next door.

Even if he was going to see the teachers for a change of room, at least he has to enjoy the perfect settings of this VIP section first.

Maybe it was just him, but the portal travel seems to take a large amount of strength from people. He walked up to the large bed designed with ancient wood carvings at the frame and a bedsheet that shows a blue AI robot carrying Earth in its metal palm.

He was about to slump on the soft foam when a voice came from a hidden speaker somewhere in the room.
