Double Wonder Amy

"Where the hell are the others? Did they leave me to fight him alone?"

Amelia Grenn pressed a hidden button on her jacket. It was a receiving device. "Hunter, where the hell are you?! I thought you and the others were following me!"

Hunter said from the other line.

Amy only scoffed and pressed the button again to end the communication. She doesn't even have the strength to be furious.

She looked down at Seven's young face as he lay unconscious on the cold floor. She would have felt a great pang of pity for him if she didn't know how dangerous he is. He had almost succeeded in defeating her completely, maybe kill her if needs be.

Amelia only won this combat because of her dual ability... Her super speed and her healing quirk.

The first time dual quirk was discovered was about 50 years ago when the portal travel just came into being. The first mutant to exhibit dual quirk had the ice and the fire quirk both. Before then, mutants have always been known to gain just one ability once they become mutated on Luxus, but after the discovery of the first dual-quirk mutant, scientists instantly jumped into action, trying to understand how a body could store two different quirks at once.

Up till today, the scientist haven't been able to come up with a satisfying hypothesis, but speculations came up stating that it might have been as a result of production of new cells in the body after the former cells have all been mutated. For example, the person's body, after all the normal cells have been mutated, started producing new set of cells that hasn't been mutated. So, with the difference in the two set of cells, another mutation starts in the new cells if the stay on Luxus was prolonged. And with this comes a whole different quirk.

But of course, these are all speculations and a real law hasn't been compounded to back these speculations up.

The dual-quirkers all over the world are only few, and they are called The Double Wonders. And lately, there are now groups of these Double Wonders meeting secretly all over the world, setting rules for themselves, all in trying to help safeguard one another. Well, that was the initial aim of their society until they started acting in an occultic manner, disregarding the basic quirkers rules by earth's authorities, forming their own rules and all manner of disobedience against the authorities.

Well, there are also downsides to being a Double Wonder. People have always thought they are the most powerful because they have two quirks, but it was proven not to be so... Except for S-Ranked or an A-Ranked Double Wonder, the lower ranked ones can not use their abilities to a full potential like someone with one ability because the energy that was supposed to concentrate on one quirk is now divided into two. So, a B-Rank Double Wonder who has the fire and ice quirk will only be able to exhibit D-rank strength for the fire quirk and a D-rank strength for the ice quirk. Based on this calculation, an average C-rank Mutant with a single quirk will most likely defeat a B-rank Double Wonder in a combat.

So, Amelia Grenn being a Double Wonder with an S-Rank clearly does not follow this rule. She is a speed quirker and a healer as well. Most times, the Double Wonders either have two active quirks or two passive quirks, but only a few possess both active and passive quirks at once, and Amy is one of the few.

After Seven had smashed her against the wall and he thought she was unconscious, Amy had immediately activated her healing quirk, returning her badly wounded face and her broken bones to normal with amazing speed. Her position as an S-ranker enables her do these things with immediate effect.

At that moment, her body and her quirk strength returned back to normal, but she was a little weak from exhaustion. She had used too much of her stamina in the first round and more when she used the healing quirk. This weakness wouldn't enable her face Seven head on for the next round, so she had to use her special skill which she had trained so hard all her life to perform.

She named it The Rolling Storm. Gathering speed, she'd run round her opponent, confusing him with traces of herself behind, then after her momentum has been built to the highest, she'd launch her speedy attacks at the confused opponent times and times again until one of them passes out.

With how weak she was, she was grateful that Seven had passed out before her or it would have been a different story entirely.

Even now, she was gasping for breath while standing watch over Seven. Her clothes was covered in dust and her one blood. Her left sleeve has been torn completely to the elbow and her expensive white sneakers have been damaged due to the repetitive kicks he gave Seven.

Seven on his own was as still as a stone against the floor. His thin face was now covered in blood from the lower half. His nose appeared to have shifted to the side, giving him a grotesque look. His long hair was scattered all over the floor and deep eyes closed in a peaceful slumber.

Amy wasn't really concerned about the boy's health because she knew the medics would arrive any moment and he'd be treated by the best Healer on earth (arguably), named Fay.

A few moments later, Hunter Man came dashing down the field with four other people running behind him. From the distance, Amy could see that it was Alpha, Optimus, and two security guards with their large B-Rank weapons in their hands.

"Thanks for coming so early. I wouldn't have survived this without your help," Amelia said with hateful sarcasm.

"Aw, sorry Amy. We had to drop back behind you to attend to what we felt is most necessary. We made a very important call to the Avengers' station," Hunter Man said apologetically. "And good gracious, how did you manage to subdue him? We came rushing so we could help you out. We sent the security guards after you to help you out, but they had to deal with a ruckus that the students started after leaving the hall."

"It was easy, if you ask me. I only got kicked in my buttocks, broke my face against a wall, shattered my bones, and nearly died... All by a new student who only recently acquired an S-rank quirk but uses it like he has been an Avenger all his life... That was all. Easy, right?"

"I said I'm sorry, Amelia." Hunter stressed.

"Okay. Fine," Amy said and walked away from the group. She wanted to go sit under a shade before but changed her mind and made to go inside the main building. "I'm going to get myself treated. Take care of the boy."

As soon as she reached the entrance of the main building, she came across someone that nearly took her breath away...

"SUNSLAYER?!!!"

The man was coming from the staff room, walking briskly and with urgently but with an easy smile plastered over his face. He had arrived at the academy through the portal connecting his destination to the academy's. His red hair was neatly gelled at the sides and left spiked at the top. His eyes which was also red was deep set, hovering over his straight sharp nose. He was dressed in a strange clothing...

A red tight suit clung to his muscular body and over it was a thick woolen material draped over the suit from his left shoulder to his right side. The woolen material looked like the fur of a beast, ash in colour, thick and bristling. Over his waist was a metal belt that tucked the red suit in and held his red pants in place. His deep black boots tapped the marbled floor in a perfect rhythm and his walk was almost robotic.

"SUNSLAYER?!!" Amelia screamed again, her eyes disbelieving and her weak self suddenly forgotten.

"I guess your name is Amelia Grenn, right? Yes, it is really me," the man called Sunslayer said.

Instantly, Amelia's face turned red with embarrassment. She never believed that Sunslayer could ever know who she was, talk less of knowing her name.

Simply put, Sunslayer is an Avenger. He is one of the top warriors in Earth's League of Avengers, and Amelia has been a great lover of him ever since she saw his picture in one of the posters when she was an academy student. She has always dreamed of seeing Sunslayer and maybe hold a conversation with him. And now that she's finally met him, he looks even more handsome in person. She couldn't get a hold of herself anymore.

"Y...yes... I am Amy... Amelia G...Grenn... Oh my days, it's really Sunslayer..."

"Okay, Amy. I have some business to do here if you'll excuse me," Sunslayer said. Amy has been blocking the way without noticing.

She scrambled to one side then watched him go past with loving eyes. "He looks so hot. Oh, Sunslayer."

Sunslayer got to where Hunter Man was crouched with the others over Seven Howell. "Man, seems you did a good job subduing him like this. You said he was going wild earlier when you contacted the station."

"Yes, he was really wild. I just had to contact the Avengers' station to come witness this. Thank galaxies for the invention of portals or you wouldn't have reached here on time. Who knows what he'd have done when he wakes," Hunter said.

"I see. So you want us to take him with us, Hunter?" Sunslayer asked.

"Yes, take him with you. He doesn't want to stay at the academy, and since he's an S-Ranker which is very strange judging from the fact that he just got mutated, we figured he'd be useful for the Avengers. He has so much potential, so he'll improve well under the Avengers' care."

"Okay, agreed. But who beat him to this extent? You said you didn't get to fight him when you called."

"Well, it was Amy."

"Amy?"

"Yes, Amy. She did this all on her own before we arrived," Hunter said while pointing at Amelia who was staring nonstop at Sunslayer.

"Wonderful," Sunslayer said while beaming a wide smile at Amy before raising a thumbs up at her.

Amelia could have collapsed at that gesture if she wasn't resting against a wall.
