Kyro (hesitant, then resolute):
"Then I already know. I don't want to just survive while those up there let us die in the slums. If I really have this power, then I don't want to use it just for myself. I want to use it so that no one has to live like I did in the slums. I don't know how to do that… but I know that I want it. I will use this power to change the world. And…" I hesitated, then said firmly despite my uncertainty, "If I come along and don't like what I see – can I leave?"
Shade (with a mocking smile):
I tilted my head. "At any time. I'm not a prison warden, Kyro. I'm a teacher. And you… you're a child with a dream to change the world. But if you have this power – do you think those above will let you take it without a fight?"
Kyro (quietly determined):
"I don't know who they are or how they did this to us. But I won't let things stay the way they are now."
Shade (thoughtfully, then with a sharp laugh):
"Changing things? You're just a kid who doesn't even know how this world works. But I see that you believe what you're saying. That's a start. You might just become one of my most interesting students."
"Follow me," Shade said.
I deliberately kept my distance as we walked through the winding alleys of the slums. Finally, we reached an abandoned warehouse – or what appeared to be one at first glance.
Shade placed his hand on the metal, and the shadows around us began to shift. Suddenly, a passageway opened – not like a normal door, but as if reality itself was folding.
"Welcome to my humble abode," he said with a touch of irony in his voice.
What I saw took my breath away. The space inside was enormous, several stories high. Holographic displays floated in the air, showing streams of data and pulsating energy patterns. Shelves lined the walls, filled with old books alongside cutting-edge technology.
