The Final Minutes of the Trial Phase
Liebe stood amidst the remnants of battle, his breath heavy, his hands gripping the kinetic sword Excalibur tightly. The dust began to settle, and the two defeated fighters lay unconscious on the ground. Around him, eight resonance crystals glowed faintly before he carefully packed them into his pouch.
"This was only the beginning," he murmured softly as he straightened up. His gaze drifted into the distance, where a holographic display projected the remaining time. Thirty minutes until the first trial officially ended. Liebe knew that every second counted, and standing around was not an option.
Kyro and Rex's Battle Against the Resonance Beast
Location: A jagged valley on the outskirts of the industrial district, strewn with rubble. The Resonance Beast—a two-headed creature with a shimmering crystalline exoskeleton—stomped through the battlefield, shaking the ground with every step.
Kyro and Rex had been tracking the beast for ten minutes. The creature was aware of their presence and reacted aggressively to any movement nearby.
"The heads are armored," Kyro muttered as he ducked behind a boulder for cover. "We need to find its weak spots."
Rex, calmly drawing his bow, nodded. "I'll take the left head. If we can separate them, we have a chance."
The Battle Begins – Distraction Maneuver
Kyro burst from cover, his resonance lines flaring in icy blue light. With a piercing battle cry, he drew the attention of the right head. The creature roared, its glowing eyes locking onto him.
With a precise strike of his sword against a nearby rock, Kyro sent a shower of sparks into the air, provoking the beast into a furious attack. The right head lunged forward with astonishing speed—but Kyro rolled beneath the strike, dodging its razor-sharp fangs by mere inches.
Rex's Precision
While Kyro distracted the creature, Rex steadied his aim with unshakable focus. His bow hummed softly, charged with resonance energy. He drew back the string, exhaled, and released.
The arrow sliced through the air and buried itself deep into the left head's eye.
The hit was clean—the beast let out a guttural screech, rearing up as one of its shimmering crystals dislodged and fell to the ground. But the pain only fueled its rage, making it even more dangerous.
The Fight Intensifies
The left head now turned its full attention to Rex, while the right continued to pursue Kyro. The ground quaked as the beast stormed forward.
Kyro channeled his resonance, amplifying his agility. With a blinding leap, he kicked off a boulder and landed on the creature's back. His dagger flashed as he drove it between the armored scales of the right head.
"Rex, I need cover!" Kyro shouted.
The Final Strike
Rex fired another arrow—this time aimed at the right head. The resonance-charged shot tore through the creature's thin eye armor, sending the second crystal clattering to the ground.
Kyro, still perched on the beast's back, saw his chance. With one decisive thrust, he plunged his sword deep into the right head's neck, releasing a wave of concentrated resonance energy. The crystal shattered from its exoskeleton, falling straight into his grasp.
The End
The beast collapsed, its twin heads falling lifelessly to the ground. The battle was over.
Panting heavily, Kyro and Rex stood in the midst of the ruined battlefield.
"That was too close," Rex muttered, slinging his bow over his shoulder.
Kyro exhaled, holding up both resonance crystals. "Seven for you, seven for me. This should put us in a strong position."
End of the Hunt.
