Emma thought her life was going to take a dark turn, one that would never see daylight again. All these she thought when her stepfather used her as collateral to pay off his debts. 


Expecting to meet a cruel old man that would strangle her all night, and lend her off to men at daytime, but instead she was faced with something else, something she couldn't quite understand.

Raymond burst out laughing again. He faced his father to address the issue.

"Dad, it's nothing to worry about. Emma's boyfriend or whatever I will call him is not from any Mafia family, let alone boss. I can't believe Mr Beau was fooled into believing such a thing from him"

Raymond stepped to his father and continued.

"Mr Jefferson had a mess in the company, and he borrowed money from a local broker. He paid the money back but there were some hidden charges in the contract he signed. The hidden charges were directed to the boss underlings, not even the boss underlings but some random thugs in the streets.

It was the boss' way of mocking smaller families, which Mr Jefferson discovered later. Mr Jefferson didn't want to pay the money so he gave Emma to the local thugs and they agreed!"

Feeling like he had said something groundbreaking, Raymond raised his shoulder as he stood close to his father.
