Just as they were about to enter, someone called Nicolas.
"It's an important call. Can you wait a bit for me? I will be back soon," he said and she nodded her head.
"Do you know that we have the most beautiful waterfall in the whole city just behind our home?" A kid said to another enthusiastically.
"Really? I have free time. Can you take me there?" The other kid's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree at the name of the waterfall.
And so did Amara's eyes.
She has always liked how the waterfalls down like magic. It looks too beautiful to resist the temptation.
"Sure but before that, I need to get something from my room. Why don't you go to the forest next to our home? The waterfall is within it. I will find you after reaching there,"the same kid said.
"But what if I lost my way? I don't know the directions and will probably get lost," the other kid said with a worried look.
"No, you won't. The forest is small and there isn't any savage beast present there as far as I remember. You are going to be safe and sound. Just get going already," the other kid said pushing her towards the exit. He left from there immediately.
The other kid was standing there for a few minutes, confused whether she should go alone or not.
Her eyes were carrying confusion and she started walking towards the opposite side. Amara guessed that she decided to go later.
But Amara was determined to go.
She hesitantly nodded her head at her own decision before walking out of the house's main door.
She totally forgot about Nicolas who was supposed to go with her. Her love for nature was so deep that she doesn't remember anything else when it comes to visiting a place.
And she has always wanted to visit waterfall. How could she let that go so easily?
She started following the long path that looked like it was going behind the house.
She forgot to ask that kid the directions and started cursing herself for that.
"Let's forget that and follow this path. I am certain that it is going behind the house," she left a deep breath.
The sides of the road were filled up with greeneries. A few banana trees were placed in a way that they worked as shelter to the person going in the middle of them.
The banana pads were carrying little water drops on top of them.
The road was a little bumpy and slippery from the rain but it didn't affect her much as she was walking and not using any carriage.
She looked at the opposite side of the castle and saw a clear river.
She stopped there for a second and saw a few fish swimming.
The water was so clear that she could easily everything that was inside of it.
She was green and bluefish with a snake-like body.
She jumped off in excitement because of its beauty.
"It's so pretty. It must be that electric fish I read about in books," she started observing the river with great interest.
She later realized that the kids weren't still there. She shrugged off her shoulders and thought that maybe he got stuck in some other business.
"It's alright. He said that the forest is small and I would probably be able to come back before the sunset. I should just go there by myself," she nodded her head at her thoughts and started walking again.
She was feeling a different kind of peace in her heart. The weather was cloudy and windy. Sun wasn't there. Hence, she wasn't feeling hot.
She was rather feeling cool and content.
Raindrops on tree pads were looking like clear crystals and she would go around touching them every now and then.
Soon she saw the forest. Two cute squirrels were munching on almonds while standing on the wet mud.
She couldn't help but awe at the sight of them.
Their cheeks were puffed up with food and their eyes were big.
One of them noticed Amara and put the entire almond inside of its mouth in one go, afraid that Amara is going to steal their food.
Amara was afraid that it was going to tear down its mouth with that big almond inside of it but thankfully, the squirrel stomached down the almond faster than she could ever imagine.
It looked at the other one before tapping its arms. The other one looked at Amara and repeated the previous one's actions.
Amara started chuckling at their cautious yet adorable move.
"I am not going to steal your food. You don't have to feel afraid of me. I am as harmless as you both are," she softly said before moving in front of them.
At the start, they looked like they believed her and didn't move when she was about to touch their heads.
But as she was about to touch their heads, they started running away.
After reaching a safe distance they turned around to look at her again.
Amara wasn't an expert in reading others' eyes but the betrayal and distrust were clear as the daylight in their eyes.
They looked at her with complain filled eyes. As if they were trying to tell Amara to leave as soon as possible.
They must have witnessed eyes that weren't as Amara's as before.
They must have seen someone being gentle like Amara before killing or capturing them.
They must have seen other animals getting betrayed and couldn't bring themselves to trust humans again.
"We humans aren't trustable, I know. You don't have to come closer. I hope that we would meet each other again in the same forest once again in the future," she gave them a warm smile.
They adorably tilted their head as if agreeing to that deal before jumping into the tree faster than monkeys.
Their moves were so smooth that for a second, Amara wanted to turn into a squirrel.
She started walking more deeply and looked around.
She started searching for the waterfall but couldn't find one.
