Elisa barely noticed the roar of the plane engines as the plane lifted off the runway. The city lights below faded into darkness, the beautiful decoration of the plane cabin was lost on her as her thoughts remained tied to the past. She sat stiffly in her seat, arms wrapped around herself, her mind replaying the police officer's voice from the night she identified her parents bodies.

"They were drunk."

"A half-empty tequila bottle was found in the front seat."
