CHAPTER TWENTY- EIGHT

Jason leaned against the doorway of Cael's room, arms crossed, watching as the Alpha buttoned up a dark, fitted tactical shirt. His eyebrows lifted slightly as Cael strapped a knife holster to his forearm, then grabbed a small black canister from his desk and sprayed it across his neck. A scent suppressant.

Jason smirked. "So, we're dressing like a rogue assassin today, huh?" 

Cael didn't glance up. "Shut up, Jason."

Jason grinned, stepping forward. "Let me guess, you're just going to 'check on the security' of a certain bookshop cafe?"

Cael adjusted his watch, his expression unreadable. "I just want to see her new workplace."

Jason barked out a laugh, clapping his hands together. "Gods, I never knew I would see the day. You are so not handling this. This is your first crush, well, at all."

Cael's head snapped up, eyes narrowing into a cold glare.
