The morning air was crisp as Elisa stepped into the general dining area, stretching out the soreness in her shoulders. Her first day at work had been overwhelming but strangely satisfying. She had managed to go through the day without making a fool of herself, even though Samantha and Rose had tried their best to rattle her.
She was stirring her tea at the breakfast table when Mira walked in, sat down opposite her, and propped her chin in her palm as she eyed Elisa with a mischievous glint in her eyes.
"So, how was your first day, career woman?" Mira teased. "Though I still don't get why you choose to work."
Elisa rolled her eyes. "Fine. Busy. Surprisingly tolerable. That place is huge, you should have warned me."
"We only go for the best here, plus your CV was good, don't sell yourself short."
"Yeah. Help me extend my thanks to Luna. I may not get to see her often for now; I am on the full day shift."
