The Modelling Audition

The Sinclair Family Home

The next morning, Lucy sits at the breakfast table with her parents and older brother, James. The Sinclair home is elegant but warm, with a large window overlooking the garden.

Lucy's mother pours herself a cup of tea while her father reads the newspaper. James, dressed casually, scrolls through his phone.

Having business conversation as usual

Alyssa Lucy's mother started

Alyssa:How was the Party Lucy, Did you have fun

Lucy: Yeah Mom, I had fun in-fact it was the last time meeting almost everyone

Lucy: So... I was wondering Mom Dad um

Lucy: Now that I'm done with my masters, maybe I could have a little more freedom? You know, go out more, meet people."

Her father looks up from his paper, raising an eyebrow.

Father Mr. Sinclair: Freedom to do what, Lucy? Date some boy who'll distract you from your goals?

Mr. Sinclair: No. You have your whole future ahead of you. Focus on building a career first."

Lucy: Who said he will distract me, But it's not just about a career. I want to live my life, meet people, fall in love.

Mother (gently but firmly): Darling, we're only looking out for you. You're too young to get swept up in all that. Trust us—we know what's best."

"But I am 21 mom I have grown why isn't the same with James" Lucy shouted angrily

Her father's tone turns stern.

Father: "That's different. James is older and more responsible. You're still figuring things out."

Lucy pushes her chair back abruptly, her appetite gone.

Lucy (quietly): "I don't want to argue. Forget I said anything."

She leaves the room, her mother calling after her.

James: She is right Mom it's not bad if she finds one right now she is done with her education and she has done well

Mom (Exhausted but in an agreeing tone): Alright fine, well There is a gala coming soon which we were planning not to go but you and Lucy can go and tell us if you find some one decent

James (while smiling ☺): so is it official that she can now be in a relationship

Later that afternoon, Lucy sits on her bed, scrolling through her phone aimlessly. Cassie barges in without knocking, a mischievous grin on her face.

Cassie: "You'll never guess what I just found out."

Lucy (without looking up): "What?"

Cassie: "Your parents are taking you to the Hart family gala next weekend."

Lucy sits up, surprised.

Lucy: "What? Why?"

Cassie: Networking, obviously. But this is your chance, Lu. It's going to be full of influential people. And who knows, maybe someone special will be there.

Lucy raises an eyebrow, skeptical.

Lucy: "Or maybe they'll spend the whole night introducing me to boring business partners."

Cassie (grinning): Not if I have anything to do with it. Trust me, this gala could change everything.

At that moment James walks in the room

James: Perfect timing, is it true what Cassie is telling it is true on a condition

Lucy: What is it?

James: Mom and Dad have been applying for you a job at Astra agency and they need you to pass

Lucy (Sad that they are still deciding for her): Really James, You all know that I prefer acting

James: Oh no, this is just a start they remember they know you love acting acting and you will get a chance but start with modeling

James: And once you are good model you will also be working for the family

Lucy: Alright fine

James while happily hugging her: Yeah it's great for you and Cassie's future then you will go to the gala

AUDITION DAY

Lucy took a deep breath as she stepped out of the car with Cassie.

Cassie, as always, seemed cool and confident, adjusting her blazer as they walked toward the entrance of the Astra modeling agency. She wore a white dress that hugged her figure, matching her professionalism perfectly.

Lucy, on the other hand, had chosen a simple but elegant black dress with her hair pulled back in a neat ponytail.

"Don't worry, Lucy. You're going to crush this," Cassie said, giving her a supportive nudge as they entered the building.

"I hope so," Lucy murmured, glancing nervously around.

Receptionist: You're here for the interview?

"Yes, we are,Cassie replied confidently, smiling brightly.

They took a seat in the waiting area, which was filled with other models—some flipping through fashion magazines, others on their phones, all of them striking the same poses, like they had practiced in front of mirrors.

Cassie: Relax girl, you've got this, I mean, look at you. You're a natural.

Before Lucy could respond, the sound of heels clicking against the tiled floor drew their attention. Amelia swept into the room, her signature confidence radiating off her like a spotlight. She was in a pale blue dress that accentuated her figure, her hair styled into perfect waves.

"Well, well, well," Amelia said with a smirk, her eyes flickering between Lucy and Cassie.

Amelia: Didn't expect to see you two here. Guess we're all after the same thing, huh?

Lucy (not bothering to show her distaste): "It's a small world, I suppose."

Amelia laughed lightly, as if Lucy had said something amusing. "Good luck in there. You'll need it."

Lucy confidently with a smile ☺: I don't need luck darling I'm blessed

Moments later, the door to the interview room opened, and a young assistant stepped out.

"Lucy Sinclair, Amelia Davenport, you're both up."

Lucy's heart raced as she stood. She and Amelia exchanged a brief, tense glance before following the assistant inside, leaving Cassie in the waiting area.

The Interview

The room was large and minimalistic, with bright overhead lights and a long table where three interviewers sat. A middle-aged man in a tailored suit, a sharp-eyed woman with a clipboard, and a younger man who looked like he'd rather be anywhere else.

"Lucy Sinclair," the man said, glancing at the papers in front of him. "And Amelia Davenport. Welcome well Without wasting time Let's start with Ms. Lucy."

Lucy stepped forward, with a calm exterior. The woman with the clipboard gestured for her to walk to the center of the room.

"Show us your walk," she instructed, her voice clipped but kind.

Lucy took a deep breath and began, Her steps were steady, her posture perfect, and she focused on exuding confidence.

When she finished, the man nodded, clearly impressed. "Good. Now, tell us why you want to be a model."

Lucy , her voice steady: "I've always admired the art of modeling—not just the beauty of it but the way it tells a story. I want to be part of that. To represent something meaningful."

The woman scribbled something on her clipboard and gave a small, approving nod.

Next, it was Amelia's turn. Her walk was flawless with her confidence.

When both were done, the interviewers exchanged glances and spoke in low voices. Finally, the middle-aged man looked up.

Interviewer 1: "We're interested in both of you. Amelia, your confidence is remarkable. And Lucy, you have a fresh, genuine presence that we think could resonate well."

Lucy's heart soared at the words. She and Amelia both thanked them before leaving the room.

Later, in the Lobby

After the interviews, the three of them stepped out into the lobby. Amelia still talking about how she thinks she was the best in the room as they walked out, something caught Cassie's eye. A tall figure stood near the entrance, talking to a manager.

It was Sebastian.

He was dressed in a tailored navy suit that made him look impossibly polished. His usual casual demeanor was replaced with an air of authority.

Cassie: Is that Sebastian

Amelia: Wow he looks as nice as always but more like a CEO

As if hearing their conversation, Sebastian looked up and caught their gaze. He smiled, his usual easygoing demeanor masking the faint tension in his eyes. He stepped toward them.

Sebastian: Lucy!

Cassie (Fake Cough): Am also here.
