The Marriage is Settled

Peter Jones raised the corner of his mouth, toning down his usual commanding demeanor, and spoke in a gentle, gentlemanly manner, "How about this? Whatever price you want him to pay, I'll help you. You don't have to marry me right away; we can start as boyfriend and girlfriend first."

A businessman is always a businessman, quick to propose a deal. He is indeed a smart man, and probably a master at pursuing women. Sending flowers is secondary; this statement of his hit my weak spot.

I really wanted to teach that despicable and shameless Eason Lee a lesson, but a half-hearted punishment wouldn't erase the hatred I've harbored for years. Pursing my lips, I resolutely refused, "I'm sorry, but everyone associated with Eason Lee is my enemy, including you!"

Seeing his innocent confusion, I smiled sweetly, "But it's not like there's no room for compromise!"
