Chapter 1: The Divine Game

There were several screams in this environment, people with drinks dripped into people's hands from the constant shaking and vibration. Right in front of these people's vision, there were two elegant and armed men, locked in a great battle.

This entire event was taking place in a large stadium packed with people watching this great battle, it was great entertainment for everyone. There were particles of power everywhere, swords touching with strong movements from both opponents, it was a great historical battle that was being made.

This battle took place in a very advanced virtual reality video game program, the Ultra VR X. You could be completely in the game, you could feel it, you could smell it, it was like you were completely inside a new world.

This battle, years later, was the biggest battle in online gaming, marking the memories of all the people who participated in this huge community of millions of people. The name of this game was Dungeon's Line, a game that consists of you leveling up by defeating monsters in dungeons, you can improve your weapons, choose your own class and much more.

It was a very large and strong community with a lot of influence, several streamers would broadcast live playing this game for hours and hours without stopping, practically their life was inside this big MMORPG.

Year 2026, in the city of São Paulo, in the southern part, there was a young boy who was fascinated by video games, he spent all his time, he dedicated his entire life to finishing extremely difficult games. He always lived in his clean and smelly room playing various games on his video game, he had the Ultra VR X on his shelf, but he had never used it.

As time went by, the boy named Airum lost the desire to play, nothing really challenged him anymore, all the games were boring, he finished them all so easily, nothing brought him that flame that he had in his heart when playing any game.

Airum had white hair, his eyes were purple and dark, he was wearing a dark sweatshirt, it was a very pleasant cold in the big city. He was going to a big store that sold games and everything about video games.

Airum: "Hi Carla, how are you?"

Carla was the person who worked in this environment, she really liked her job and earned a lot of money. She had long blonde hair, but it was tied up, she was wearing the store uniform and she had a cell phone in her hand, playing a common puzzle game.

Carla: "Hi Airum, hey, aren't any games entertaining you?"

Airum: "Wow... The situation is tough, no game is entertaining me anymore, I'm getting pissed off with this, I just wanted to play a game that brings me really cool challenges, you know." He said showing genuine anger, Carla was laughing silly.

Carla: "Look, I have a really good option, why don't you give it a try?"

Airum: "That mmo? You know I don't like those games, the last one I played had a weird object that everyone... EVERYONE USED, everything was shit in that game, and don't ask me what that object was."

Carla: "My dad... But this one is different, millions of people play it, everyone speaks highly of it, come on, give it a chance."

Airum: ".... Okay, okay, I'm only going because you're the one convincing me." He took out his cell phone and accessed his bank account to make the payment.

Carla had gone to the shelf where the game was, she picked it up and returned to her place of service.

Carla: "Here it is."

Airum: 'Dungeon's Line... I hope you surprise me."

Airum was making the payment, and after that, he says goodbye to Carla and goes back to his house. When he gets home, he picks up the game and reads it and it says that it is playable only with the Ultra VR X, luckily Airum had it on his shelf.

Airum does the entire process of turning on the ultra VR X, putting on all the equipment and placing the VR glasses on your face.

Airum: "Okay, let's see what you have to offer me.... Dungeon's Line...?"

Several white lines were formed, and after that the game title appeared

Your vision is taken by a great white light, suddenly the light fades and your character is falling towards a forest in the middle of nowhere. After he lands, he looks around and sees only trees and insects wandering, birds singing beautifully without stopping, it was a very beautiful environment.

Airum looked at his hands and body, and realized that he was stronger, with a thin but athletic appearance, he was only wearing basic pants, basic shoes and no shirt.

He starts testing the game mechanics, jumping, climbing, fighting, running, etc. He found it very consistent and perfect, he was amazed. He starts exploring the environment, but he saw nothing but the beautiful nature of this place.

After walking lost. Something starts moving in the bushes, and that thing quickly advances on Airum, making an attack with the sword that was in his hand. Airum calmly dodges the attack, he sees that it was a small goblin carrying a dark sword with blue edges, it was a strong A-rank weapon, a great weapon to start with.

The goblin tried several attacks, but Airum dodged them all with ease, Airum was a great tryhard in any game he played. In another attack that the goblin tries, Airum manages to avoid kicking the goblin, making him throw the sword that was in his hand.

Airum quickly grabs the sword, advances towards the goblin and cuts him in half, the goblin disappears, making several pixelated particles after his disappearance.

Airum: "Now is the game about to start? Heh, okay."

Arium opens the map, it appears as a system window, like any RPG. The destination that the system points to is the starting kingdom, the kingdom of Lyndfall. Arium then starts going to the city. After a few long minutes, he finally arrives at the kingdom of Lyndfall, he looks around and sees stores of weapons, clothes, supplies, etc.

Arium goes to a clothing store, he needed better clothes to start his adventure. He buys a combat shirt that covered his entire torso and arms, the color was black with white stripes, and black pants, with an adjustable fabric, proportional to his body.

He arrives at the dungeon in 4 minutes and realizes that he will not do his mission alone, there were 5 other players who would be his companions in this dungeon.

Everyone was afraid, because if you die, you will lose all your items. The items are left where the person died. If you are lucky enough not to have been stolen by anyone, you can easily recover them.

The 5 players came together to start the Dungeon, after everyone agreed to start, the portal began to open. Everyone was teleported into the dungeon, and when they looked around, it was just a big place with some holes in the ceiling.

Everyone prepared for Raid, Arium was floating in this situation.

Suddenly, several wolves appeared in the holes at the top of the spacious place. The players, prepared, advanced to defeat the monsters quickly. Arium was inattentive, a wolf had fallen on top of him. Suddenly, he woke up and used his sword to stab the wolf in the chest, killing it in a single attack.

Suddenly, other wolves advance on Arium, but he dodges the wolves' attacks and uses his super burst ability, hitting all the wolves that were in his hit box.

After a few minutes of battling these wolves, they finally defeat all the wolves, thus beginning the second Raid.

Several wolves appeared in the darkness that existed in the part that continued the players' path, this time, the wolves had some very resistant metal parts that could break weapons with a single blow.

The wolves advance into combat with the players, setting off yet another battle between the players and the wolves. Arium is surrounded by three wolves. The first one advances, but Arium manages to dodge it. The second one comes towards him. Arium dodges it and uses an attack, slightly injuring the second wolf. The third one jumps on top of him, making him fall to the ground.

Arium punches the wolf, making it go straight to the wall. The second wolf goes towards him trying to bite him, but Arium uses his sword to defend the attack. The other wolf advances to bite him. As Arium was recovering after the attacks, the wolf manages to bite his arm. He groans in pain, but takes advantage of this to use his sword and stick it in the wolf's belly, thus finishing off the first wolf.

The other two remaining wolves advance at the same time, but Arium jumps over them and attacks from behind, using his Quick Cuts ability.

Arium: "The monsters here are so hard to kill, none of the ones I've played have ever been like this, will this be my salvation...?"

Arium after using this Quick Cuts skill, then he uses the Super Burst, as a big combo, thus, leaving the wolves with little health. The rest of the players were already finishing the job, with only a few wolves left to be eliminated.

Arium performs a combo of attacks, performing a spinning attack to eliminate the first wolf and then using Quick Cut again to eliminate the other wolf, thus finishing off the three that had attacked him.

Arium: "Wow, I finally did it, they were very challenging, I liked the boldness of the game creators."

All players had eliminated the remaining wolves, thus ending the second Raid.

"What? The Grim Wolf, for fuck's sake!"

The Dark Grim Wolf is a kind of alternate personality of the common Raid wolf. It is very rare for this to happen. It is a highly difficult wolf. You would have to spend hours and hours fighting against it, even if it is a very high level. The newbie who has the courage to fight this wolf will be the chosen one, carrying a second mage class and gaining a dagger carrying the wolf's magic and made with the wolf's enormous tooth. These are the benefits of beginner players who managed to carry this advantage so early.

The wolf advances towards him, making an attack with his great sword, but Arium luckily dodges it by doing a somersault backwards, and then the wolf makes an attack again, Arium is surprised, but manages to defend in time, making a "perfect parry."

Arium tried several attacks, but none of them reached the wolf, Arium was excited about this fight. He again defends the wolf's attacks, all making a "perfect parry", Arium was very lucky not to have been killed by the Dark Grim Wolf.

Arium: "I don't know what to do anymore, this wolf is a disgrace."

Suddenly a wolf used a skill that made a large burst, but luckily Arium dodged its attack and realized that the Wolf had lowered its guard, thus finally after long minutes, having his first opportunity to attack.

Arium: "This is my chance!"

Arium stabs his sword into the wolf's chest, making it gnaw in pain. Suddenly, the wolf begins to disappear, sending mist particles everywhere. The intimidation magic had disappeared from the players.

"You... You managed to defeat the wolf!! Wow, that's awesome."

Arium: "Yeah, I'm the strongest here, I know." He said bragging.

Everyone was happy but then they started to get scared, they had realized that in the name Airum Skol, right next to it was his level, level 15. How could a mere beginner defeat the great Dark Grim Lol with just a lucky half-assed attack?

A large dark mist had formed behind Arium, all the players looked back in fear, going as far as possible.

Airum: "Why are you guys running? You're scared of my strength, I know, heh."

Right behind Airum, the wolf had formed, Airum notices something strange coming behind him and when he looks, he sees the fear eater right in front of him, realizing at the same moment, that it was Game Over for him.

The wolf hits him with its mouth, biting him and after that, the player to the side. Airum was disappearing, several pixels were coming out of his body, he was being forgotten by everyone who was watching him die.

Airum: "What the fuck, I'm going to lose all of this. Damn..."

There was nothing in his vision but darkness.

The dagger was completely dark with purple along with it, it made a light mist, it seemed to be very strong.

Grim's outfit was a very stylish overcoat with dark and purple colors, it gave Arium a serious tone, but Arium was a complete goofball fascinated by games.

Arium had left the medical center with a new and very lucky chance, he was excited because he knew he would face worse things than the wolf Grim, he had been too excited about the fight against the wolf, and now he is looking for a new challenge.

He decided that at that moment, he was addicted to this game, so he spent a few days playing the game, leveling up, massacring monsters in dungeons and gaining a lot of Level. He had increased his strength, agility, durability and luck, and the leftovers in Mana and intellect, his level was now at 43, Arium was excited even carrying a strong dagger, he still had difficulty facing "simple" monsters to defeat in the eyes of the strongest players in this game.
