Bella stood near the security checkpoint, waiting for Alice. She didn't understand why Alice was in such a hurry to leave, as if someone was chasing her from behind.
Half an hour later, a person ran towards them. Alice slowed down her panting breath and said, "Aunt, give me the ticket!" She took the passport, ID card, and plane ticket from her aunt's hand.
"What happened? Is something wrong?" Bella asked.
Nothing happened, unless you're blind.
"My teacher asked me to come back to school. I don't know what's going on yet, but it's urgent," Alice had already prepared an excuse.
At her age, if she hadn't taken a break from school due to pregnancy, she would still be in school.
It sounded reasonable, but Bella still didn't want her to leave. She held Alice's hand tightly and said, "Alice, you showed up at the banquet and left. You've been staying with your classmates since then, and now you're in a hurry to go back to your country. You've only talked to your aunt a few times. When will your aunt see you again? Don't you care about your aunt?"
Alice felt guilty in her heart. She hadn't come back for many years and had planned to spend more time with her aunt, but then Adam appeared like a demon. Adam's power in Star City was terrifying, and if she didn't leave now, when would she?
"Aunt, I...I'll come back to see you next time. I...I really have to go now. Take care, Aunt..." Alice couldn't afford to waste any more time. She reluctantly let go of her aunt's hand and ran towards the security checkpoint.
"Alice..." Bella called out to her.
Watching her niece go through the security check, Bella couldn't understand. Even if it was school, was it really that urgent?
After passing through security, Alice waited for the plane. Once on the plane, she waited for takeoff, feeling extremely anxious. Her gaze fell outside the window, and she felt guilty about Bella. This time leaving, the possibility of returning was almost non-existent. But she had no choice. She absolutely could not stay within Adam's control! Alice occasionally checked the time, and the intermittent arrival of passengers on the plane only heightened her anxiety. The broadcast reminded passengers to fasten their seat belts and turn on airplane mode on their phones. Flight attendants came by to collect the wired earphones from passengers' ears. Once everything was ready, the plane began to taxi down the runway. Alice's heart finally began to calm down. However, the plane stopped when it turned a corner. At first, Alice thought it was normal, but it didn't move after stopping. "Why aren't we moving?" someone asked. "I don't know..." "I'm in a hurry..." Alice was in a bigger hurry than anyone else, but she could only endure the wait. Suddenly, the door to the first-class cabin opened! This was an abnormality that Alice had never experienced before on a plane! Alice looked out the window. When she saw five or six men in black clothes and pants coldly walking up the ladder to the plane, her blood almost froze. Bodyguards entered the cabin and immediately locked eyes with Alice, who was stunned. They walked over and said, "Miss Baker, please come with us."
Alice's trembling body was tightly pressed against the seat, her face pale and helpless as she looked at them. The others on the plane were also silenced by the intimidating atmosphere.
"Miss Baker, you wouldn't want us to get physical," the bodyguard threatened.
Alice wanted to escape, but how could she? Even the takeoff time of the plane was restricted. Adam had such great power.
Why... why did they appear?
Why... wouldn't they let her go?
Why...
Alice was escorted back to Lan Yue Bay by the bodyguards. As soon as her feet touched the steps of the Imperial Garden, she felt weak and almost stumbled.
Entering the hall, the black, cold figure sitting on the sofa made Alice's face turn pale. She instinctively retreated, but bumped into the bodyguard behind her.
"Lost your way?" Adam's gloomy voice rang out.
Alice bit her lip tightly, enduring the trembling of her whole body. It was not because she was lost, nor did she think that Adam would really believe that.
Adam put down his legs, stood up, and walked towards her with elegant long legs, but he was like a dangerous beast, as if he could tear her apart in the next second.
Every nerve in Alice's body was stretched tight, and she looked terrified.
"Pretend to eat seafood and enter the hospital, then escape. Alice, I didn't expect you to have this kind of courage," Adam asked as he walked towards her.
The voice was commanding, yet devoid of anger.
Alice trembled in fear as Adam's dark figure loomed closer and closer. She turned around and pushed the bodyguard behind her with all her might."Ah!" Before she could mount any real resistance, a large hand clamped down on the back of her neck, causing her to cry out in pain. "It hurts..."
"You still don't seem to understand your position," Adam growled.
"Let me... let me go..." Alice struggled to speak.
Adam's eyes glinted with malice as he dragged her by the neck into the elevator and up to the massive steam room on the top floor.
"Mmm..." Alice tried to resist, but the hand was too strong, rendering her immobile.
The glass door in front of her slid open, and before she could react, she was shoved inside.
The door closed.
Alice was trapped in the small space, her hands frantically clawing at the glass as she looked at the terrifying man outside. "What... what is this? Why am I locked in here?"
"What do you think I'm going to do?" Adam asked, his voice dripping with malice.
Alice looked at him in disbelief. "Wh-what? No, this isn't real, you're just trying to scare me, right? This isn't happening!"Adam raised his hand and pressed a button on the electronic switch next to the glass door, causing the temperature inside to rise.
Alice could feel the heat rising on her skin, and as she realized what was happening, she panicked and pounded on the glass door. "Let me out! Don't do this, people will die, please... I beg you!"
Adam continued to turn up the heat, ignoring Alice's cries.
"No, please! Let me go!" Alice cried, even kicking at the glass door, but it wouldn't budge.
This was too cruel!
How could anyone treat her like this?
Alice watched the heartless man outside the glass, her eyes filled with helplessness and fear as she begged, "Let me out! I'm so hot! Adam, please let me go...help me! Help me!"
But no matter how much she screamed and cried, no one came to her aid!
Was she going to die here today?
She didn't want to, she had a child...
"Mmm..." Like a furnace, Alice was being roasted and it was unbearable. Every breath was heavy and her body was losing water, leaving her throat dry and gasping for air. Fear consumed her, tears streaming down her face.
