Uncle James gave me a nod of approval, his eyes softening just slightly . " That's the spirit, Anaya. Stay close to GOD, for He is your shield and defender."
I nodded and spoke " I'm ok now. I need to be alone for some time , please," I told Uncle James, trying to keep my emotions in check.
Uncle James nodded, concern in his eyes. "Alright Anaya. I'll go get something for you to eat. Take your time."
As soon as he left, the floodgates opened. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I fell on my knees, pouring my heart out to GOD.
" Oh Father, I know You're there, and I know You can hear me," I sobbed, my voice trembling. "Everything feels so overwhelming. I can't do this alone. Please, I need Your help. I'm at the edge, and if You don't intervene, I might not survive. Lord, be my shield and my strength."
I fell asleep surrounded by prayer and tears .
